What if a church became a refuge for the weary, the hurting, and the searching?

That’s the vision behind Refugio Church.

Carlos Correa and Merari Ortiz are planting Refugio Church in Willimantic, Connecticut, with a heart to create a safe place where people can encounter God, grow as disciples, and find restoration in Christ.

As they prepare to launch in summer 2026, they are asking us to pray.

💙 Pray for wisdom, provision, and favor as they seek a permanent location.
💙 Pray for God to build a committed launch team united in mission.
💙 Pray for open doors as they begin outreach efforts, including a shelter ministry to serve their community.
💙 Pray for spiritual protection, unity in leadership, and strength for their family as they faithfully follow God’s call.
💙 Pray that this bilingual church will impact generations for the glory of God.

Carlos and Merari believe God is raising up Refugio Church to be exactly what its name means: a refuge for many.
