How do Quakers worship?:
Quakers believe that only when we get quiet can we hear the still small voice inside ourselves. We do not have organized programs or sermons; however, as we wait with open hearts and minds, a message or spiritual leading may come to us in the silence. Some of these messages are best for personal reflection or sharing at another time, but other times Friends may feel led to stand and share a message. We have no set rituals, ordained ministers, or sermons. We worship in welcoming silence. Please join us. Inclusiveness:

Here is the official level 2 snow emergency post from the Athens county sheriff's office.
LEVEL TWO
Roadways are hazardous with blowing or drifting snow. Roads may also be icy. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work. Motorists should use extreme caution.
PLEASE DO ✅
✅Download our app and allow immediate push notifications
✅Follow us on social media for regular updates
✅Plan ahead for travel during inclement weather
✅Use your own judgment based on your driving skills, vehicle, roadway conditions and necessity to travel in order to determine if you should drive during a level
PLEASE DO NOT ❌
❌ Private message our social media accounts or call the Sheriff’s Office for the most current level, specific road conditions, advice, or permission to travel
❌ Increase the risk of an accident by traveling on roadways that have not been treated, unless necessary
❌ Brake or accelerate rapidly during hazardous conditions
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND ❄️
❄️ A level may not be issued each time it snows. Advisories are issued in real time based on actual conditions, and we are unable to predict when the level may be changed.
❄️ Our most recent post will reflect the current level (if the post has not been updated, the level has not changed). For immediate push notifications, please download the Athens County Sheriff’s Office app.
❄️ Snow levels exist for a reason and are issued by Sheriff Smith for your protection.
The fewer drivers on the road, the safer it will be for emergency personnel and transportation employees responsible for clearing snow and ice.
❄️ The volume of emergency calls drastically increases during inclement weather. Please do not call 911 or the Sheriff's Office unless necessary.
❄️ It is impossible to know the condition of every roadway in the county; however, Sheriff Smith works diligently to communicate with Deputies on patrol, ODOT, the Athens County Engineer, and Township Trustees to determine the level during inclement weather.
❄️ Visit https://www.athenssheriff.com/weather-classifications for general information regarding weather classifications.

About Quakers: The Athens Friends Meeting is part of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). From the Society’s beginnings in the 1600’s, Friends have sought a religious experience that is personal – free from doctrinal creeds, and from institutional hierarchy. For Friends, religion is more than believing: it leads to acting in the world in the spirit of love. Friends recognize that religious understandings are not static, but that they grow deeper over time and with experience. Quakers believe there is “that of God” in everyone.
