Is your heart heavy for the pain and suffering in this world?

Do you pray for those who are dying from drugs and alcohol? Do you notice the people you pass throughout the day who look angry, exhausted, overwhelmed, or simply tired of life?

Just today, I saw the heartbreaking news of a young former NFL player who unalived himself. It made me think, there are people all around us fighting battles we know absolutely nothing about.

Church, we cannot become so consumed with our own lives that we lose our compassion for hurting people.

Somebody needs your prayer.
Somebody needs your kindness.
Somebody needs a word of encouragement.
Somebody needs to know that they are seen.

We may not be able to remove all the suffering in this world, but we can refuse to become numb to it.

Jesus saw people. He was moved with compassion. And if His Spirit lives within us, the suffering of others should still move our hearts.

Father, please don’t ever allow us to become comfortable with the pain of humanity. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts that are willing to pray, love, encourage, and serve.

There is a hurting world around us.

Pay attention. Someone needs the Jesus in you today. 💜🙏🏾

Good evening! I am currently studying Psalm 9. Although we will pray this Psalm together, the Holy Spirit wants to give us some food for thought first.

Psalm 9 contains 20 verses, so I’m going to take my time and allow the Holy Spirit to lead me through it. I will see you tomorrow!

May the LORD bless you this evening with His peace, give you sweet rest, and awaken an even deeper hunger for His Word. 🙏🏾❤️
