What if the greatest proof that God exists is not found in a philosophy textbook, but in the desires already written on your heart? A hunger for beauty. A longing for justice. A need to be fully known and fully loved. Those desires did not come from nowhere.

This week we explored what a world without God actually looks like — no meaning, no value, no purpose. And the conclusion is clear: no one, not even an atheist, can actually live that way. Because we were made for more.

The fool says in his heart there is no God (Psalm 14:1). But you were created in the image of God, and your creator has already conferred meaning upon you. You do not have to make it up. You just have to receive it.

The Crossing Church 2026-10-25: Reason To Believe - Without God We Can't Live

Pastor Chad’s sermon explored why belief in God is reasonable by examining the consequences of a worldview without Him, arguing that life would lack ultimate meaning, moral value, and purpose. He explained that our deep desires for beauty, justice, love, and something beyond ourselves point toward our Creator. In the Christian worldview, our worth and identity come from God, our moral foundation rests in His character, and our hope is rooted in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection and the promise of a new heaven and earth. He concluded that the greatest evidence for God is a life transformed by Christ, demonstrated through the peace, joy, and hope that others can see in us.

What if the most important question you could ever answer is not philosophical, but historical? This week, we looked at the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ — and the case is stronger than you might think.

From a creed recorded in 1 Corinthians 15 that scholars date to within six months of the resurrection, to an empty tomb no one could explain away, to hundreds of eyewitnesses who died rather than recant what they saw — the evidence points to one conclusion: He is risen.

Paul made it plain — if Christ was not raised, our faith is empty (1 Corinthians 15:14). But He was raised. And that changes everything about how we live today and what we hope for tomorrow.

The Word of God is not just any book. It is historically reliable, archaeologically verified, and alive with the very breath of God. From the Dead Sea Scrolls to the eyewitness accounts of the risen Christ, the evidence is overwhelming. You can trust it.

2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us that all Scripture is breathed out by God, profitable for teaching, correction, and training in righteousness. This word has been scrutinized, attacked, and even banned in nations around the world. It is still here. Still changing lives.

One simple discipline can transform everything. Pick up the Word. Read it. Let it get down in your soul. As Jesus himself said, Scripture cannot be broken (John 10:35).
Dust off your Bible. Open it.

The greatest treasure you own may be sitting on your coffee table right now.
