Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate the freedoms that we have in this country, let us not forget those who fought for our freedoms. We encourage you to pray for all those who have fought and for those who are still fighting to keep our freedoms safe. Don’t neglect to spend time with God today. God- who is the ultimate freedom provider; who sent His Son to pay the debt of sin for each and every one of us.

Help Local Children by donating New or Gently Used children’s coats:

As night and early morning grow ever colder, we see the many needs in our community. Second Baptist Church is excited to come along side the amazing teachers and parents in our community as we partner to ensure as many children have coats as possible. Would You come along side Your and help us gather winter coats for the children at East Side Elementary School?

You may drop off coats at Second Baptist Church of Chattanooga during our office hours M-F 10:00-4:00 or on Sundays prior to 5:30 Evening Worship.

Reminder! This is our final week collecting school supplies for our friends and community members at East Side Elementary! Thank you to everyone who kept this effort in your prayers and thank you for all the donations. We can’t wait to send this over to the school!

Happy Fourth Of July!

Freedom is a Gift From God- a gift to do what is right in the eyes of our creator. A freedom to choose selflessness rather than selfishness, to love another more than we love ourselves, To Love as Christ Loves Us rather than to “love” how the world “loves”. This worldly love is corrupt and selfish, it is hate in disguise. While we’re free to choose to Love or Hate, to be Selfless or Selfish, as Christians we are called to be like Christ, to choose Love and to humbly serve God and to consider others more important than ourselves.

This Independence Day let’s Thank God for our Freedom to choose Him, rather than live in our sin, choose to follow Christ’s example in Selfless Love and Humility.
