Peace be with you

Proverbs 27:20 is an intriguing bit of ancient wisdom. It says this, "Death and destruction are never satisfied, and neither are human eyes"

It vividly imagines a grave that, no matter how much death it consumes, only desires more. The same is true with our eyes. When we want vengeance, retribution, and destruction, it's hard to make those desires subside, and we just want more.

Jesus walked into a world of death and before leaving HE provided a promise. " Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Our children and our neighbors are looking for firm ground. May you be filled with a peace that is not of this world and abound in love.

Nothing makes sense but Jesus

Good evening church family and friend I haven't met yet! I wanted to highlight Pastor Steve from his sermon about what we are called to do in light of what Jesus did for us- deny ourselves.

From paradise to Golgotha... how will you respond? Church, this question is always urgent and always timely. Let's grab some quiet time tonight and visualize Jesus's descent from Heaven for us, and the incredible price he paid and wanted all of us to respond.

From 2000 years ago to now, His sacrifice remains. How will you respond?

See you all at HVCC tomorrow to worship our amazing Heavenly Father together! The same one that sacrificed His only Son, for you and for me? That amount of suffering is difficult to comprehend, but then again so is His love for us.

Happy hump day wonderful people!!! I hope you all are enjoying the bit of sunshine that is peaking through! But church family, you are my sunshine!

Speaking of the sun shining on a hopeful future, let's celebrate our graduates here at HVCC!

Calling all graduates! If you or your child will be graduating from either high school or college this year, please email the church office ([email protected]) with their name, school, college degree (if applicable), and future plans. Graduates will be recognized during the service on Sunday, May 25.
