A mosaic is a bunch of broken pieces that come together and make something beautiful. That’s what the church is supposed to be. Mosaic Fellowship seeks to be a church where brokenness is made beautiful through Christ in the context of community.
OUR VISION: Our vision is to create beauty out of brokenness in hearts, homes, and communities through the transforming power of the gospel.
OUR MISSION: To be disciples, and make disciples in everyday life, and wherever brokenness can be found.
CORE VALUES: Mosaic seeks to train and equip people to be disciples of Christ everyday, and in all that we do, and make the kingdom known in Chattanooga. With that in mind, our core values are to live lives of:
Worship: Worship begins as we fall in love with the story of God’s redeeming grace to us through Jesus. Falling in love with Christ as a response to his love for us, means that we worship him. Worship is a way of life, not merely an event. As such, we seek to see hearts transformed by grace and people engaged in worshipful living as they do all things to the glory of God.
Mission: Our God is a missional God who seeks and saves the lost and who brings hope and healing to a dying world. Although we were given the great comission, it is very easy to practice the great ‘omission’ by neglecting outreach and discipleship. Mosaic will be committed to making disciples in word and deed, which contains evangelism as well as mercy. For christians, being ‘on mission’ is not something we start and stop, but should be our focus and engaged in constantly as we worship and serve king Jesus as ambassadors of His kingdom.
Discipleship: The great comission is that we make disciples and disciple disciples. This is a picture of what beig a mature follower of Christ looks like. Everything in the christian life is an element of discipleship and useful for our growth in grace, sanctification, and an opportunity to obey all that Christ commanded. For Mosaic, we will practice ‘life on life’ discipleship, and practice ‘life-long’ discipleship. This will certainly include studying scripture and praying together, but will also be conducted through the call to love and serve the world around us. After all, all of life is an opportunity to be a disciple, make disciples, and disciple disciples.
Stewardship: Scripture is clear that God is the creator, sustainer, and provider of all things, and that we are called to steward the gifts he offers us. This includes our time, our talents, and our treasures. This means that our entire life is an opportunity for stewardship as we seek to use what has been entrusted to us for the glory of God.
Unity: God breaks down walls of division in order to form unity, and so we seek to do the same. Our intention is to be a church that has unity in its diversity. Our prayer is that Mosaic would be church for the rich, poor, black, white, young, old, and everything in between.
Authenticity: The body of Christ should be a radically vulnerable, honest, and authentic group of people. This is because our identity is in Christ, not in our story, success, failures, shortcomings, or sin. Through being loved and transformed by God, we are set free to know and be known in ways that are counter-cultural to the world we live in.
