Kendi Garfield is with Cheryl Brown and 6 others in Chattanooga, OK. On the way to visit my dad in Frederick on his heavenly anniversary, I stopped by the Chattanooga Cemetery and put some flowers out on my grandmother and granddads grave. Joy Beth Kinder
May 20, 1946 — February 17, 2026
Frederick, OK
Joy Beth Kinder, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder, Oklahoma. In accordance with her wishes, her body will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered over the wildflowers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Beth was born on May 20, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to John and Jennie (Comer) Kinder. She grew up in a large farming family and was actively involved in sports, including basketball and barrel racing, during her time at Chattanooga Public Schools.

A devoted mother, Beth took immense pride in the academic, athletic, and musical achievements of her children. She served on numerous school parent groups and generously donated to the school band and fine arts programs in Frederick. Her support for the arts and humanities extended beyond schools to the community, where she participated in numerous art shows and took on lead roles in local theater productions, including "On Golden Pond" and "Steel Magnolias" at the Ramona Theater.

With great pride, Beth built her business, "Something Special," over a span of thirty years in Frederick. A self-taught entrepreneur and voracious reader, she started with custom applique sweatshirts in the 1980s and expanded her business to include interior design, floral design, and little league uniforms. Once she set her mind on a new skill or idea, she pursued it diligently until she mastered it.

Beth is survived by her sons, Michael Stout and his wife, Laura, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Chasen Stout and his wife, Susan, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Joshua Wiles, Alexis Flores, and Isaac Stout; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Kinder; her daughter, Melonie Wiles; her sons, Stoney Dooly and Creighton Stout; and her siblings, Mary Helen Kinder, Nellie Ruth Barker, Joe Ed Kinder, and John Dale Kinder.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tillman County Historical Society in memory of Joy Beth Kinder.
