Isabela Edwards is due in October!
Jake and Jenn Edwards are longtime friends of ours and they are having a baby soon! The Edwards have been in Costa Rica for over a year serving with the missionary organization Inca Link.

We would love to see every gift on their registry purchased before baby Isabela arrives! If you are willing to send a gift to this wonderful missionary family, go to Babylist.com/jennedwards and follow the steps that Babylist gives you. Babylist also allows you to send a cash gift either by PayPal, or the old fashioned way (you know... a check in the mail).

Thanks for supporting EnGedi Ministries, and helping us support others in ministry!

Finding rest can be especially challenging these days, as we seem to be constantly pulled in different directions.

Rest doesn’t mean just turning your mind off and watching tv or scrolling on your phone. It means engaging in something that gives you life and energy.

What are some ways that you find rest in the midst of your busy life?

Allow us to introduce ourselves! We are Zack and Megan Sims, the founders of EnGedi Ministries. We have been married since 2016, enjoying life and ministry together in 3 states, 4 cities, and 6 different homes!

We have always enjoyed church ministry, but in 2020 we felt God calling us to a new kind of ministry. We began to notice the unhealthy side effects that ministry workers face, including burnout, moral failure, and poor mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Through some of our own personal struggles and triumphs, we felt called by God to help others in ministry build relationships, resilience, and rest.

We love encouraging others in ministry, so if you or anyone you know is a pastor, missionary, or parachurch worker - send them to our website engediministries.com or have them send us a direct message!

LIFT your pastor up this week.
I’m sure the first thought is to pray for your pastor, and you should 100% be doing that on a consistent basis.
However, we should also be taking real steps to lift our pastors’ spirits and encourage them to keep fighting the spiritual battles we all face!
In this story (Exodus 17:8-16) the Israelites are in battle with the armies of Amalek. When Moses has his arms raised, the Israelite army begins to overtake the Amalekites... but when he lowers his arms the Israelites begin to lose. Moses is a great spiritual leader, but he is still a man! His arms get tired, and he is unable to hold his arms up by himself. Aaron and Hur come alongside Moses and help him hold his arms up so that Israel can push forward to the promised land.
In the same way, your pastor is a great spiritual leader, but still human! You might not know the battles your pastor is facing right now, but you can still come alongside your pastor and offer your support. LIFT your pastor to ensure they are able to continue leading your church well!

En Gedi is an oasis in the desert near the Dead Sea. It is one of only two freshwater springs in the desert, making it an extremely important stop for anyone traveling through the desert. En Gedi is the place where David hid from Saul, it is mentioned in Ecclesiastes and Ezekiel, but more specifically, it is the example of LIVING WATER in Scripture.

EnGedi Ministries serves to love and encourage ministry workers, and to equip you to do the same! Our desire is to be an oasis for those walking through the life of a minister — a life that can often times feel like the desert. We seek to be life-giving people, a people of rest, and a people of love.
