Nene Hutke Nene Hutke (Nene Hvtke) was founded in 2011 as a traditional Muskogee Ceremonial Square Ground. We c We are not a tribe, nation, band, clan, or village.

Nene Hutke (or Nene Hvtke) is a traditional Muskogee/Creek Indian Ceremonial Square Ground. Our only purpose is to provide traditional Muskogee/Creek Indian ceremonies. In olden times, the Square was the center of a town with both political and sacred, civil and spiritual functions. Today, in the North Florida area many tribes do not have a Square Ground and most Squares do not have a governmental

or administrative function. Furthermore, there are many mixed-blood descendants who do not belong to a tribe. Nene Hutke serves as a Ceremonial Square for Muskogees, Yuchis, or Seminoles who would otherwise not have a place for traditional Muskogee Ceremonies. It is open to all who want to learn more about the traditional ways of our People. A membership (either to the grounds or to a Tribe) is not required. Our People have always been deeply spiritual and today, many are of the Christian faith. We believe the Square and its associated medicines and ceremonies is the old covenant of the Creator with our People and is not diminished or replaced by Christian faith. Nene Hutke is also considered a “church” under IRS tax regulations and operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
