One of our young parishioners forwarded to me the suggestion that we all pray one Hail Mary for those who are affected - especially in ways more severe than us - and we'll send out one million Hail Marys. It takes only about 15 seconds to pray the Hail Mary.

In my morning prayer, I used a great song called "Holy Darkness" by Dan Schutte. Some of the words are:
"Holy darkness, blessed light
Heaven's answer hidden from our sight.
As we await you, oh, God of silence,
We embrace your holy light."

In this time of "holy darkness" there is so much "holy light" that normally hidden, now shows itself. My holy light is the quite of Chatham, eating many more meals with my family, and the challenge of my own patience, kindness and gratitude.
