John & Janet were faithful congregants at COE. Always ready to help with anything that they could, whether it be at church or events we held. They were a lovely couple who had a tragic end & will be missed by all who knew them including all of us at COE. God bless them both. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Happy Easter! Christ is risen! Alleluia!

"They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here but has risen'" (Luke 24:2-5).

We are sad to announce that our beloved Pastor Bob Isaksen died on March 16, 2026 at age 89. He was a wonderful blessing to us at COE after he came out of retirement and served as our Pastor for 5 years. We mourn his loss & he will be missed by many. We send our love & prayers to his wife Beverly who is also a beloved member of our congregation.

Today is Ash Wednesday.

Gracious God, out of your love and mercy you breathed into dust the breath of life, creating us to serve you and our neighbors. Call forth our prayers and acts of kindness, and strengthen us to face our mortality with confidence in the mercy of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. —Bread for the Day

They barely reach the altar.
Knees tucked under them.
Hands folded the way someone once showed them.

They don’t know the big words yet.

They don’t know how to explain fear, gratitude, or why grown-ups sometimes cry in church.

At first, prayer is simple.
Thank you for today.
Help my mom.
Please keep me safe.

Prayer is learned like walking—
by watching,
by stumbling,
and by being gently guided back up.

A habit being formed long before life gets heavy.

When joy comes, they’ll know where to take it.
When heartbreak shows up uninvited,
they’ll already know where to kneel—
at an altar, a bedside, or the front seat of a truck.

As the years pass, the prayers change.
They get longer.
They get harder.
Sometimes they feel unanswered.

But the foundation was laid early:
when words fail, you are not alone.

Teaching a child to pray
isn’t just about faith—
it’s about resilience.

That no matter how loud the world gets,
there is a place to be still…
and a God who is always listening.

Yes please bring your babies to church! We at COE welcome them & squirmy toddlers too!😊❤️

Take the babies to church.
Babies represent new life, hope, and the future.

Yes, they may cry.
Yes, they may squirm, fuss, or need to be held the entire service.
But that’s okay.

A church without babies is a quiet building, not a living one.
Those little cries are reminders that life is present, that families are growing, and that faith is being passed down in real time.

Parents don’t bring babies to be disruptive.
They bring them because they want their children to grow up surrounded by love, grace, and community even on the hard, noisy days.

So take the babies to church.
Rock them.
Walk them.
Step out if you need to and come back in when you can.
There is room for tired parents, restless toddlers, and crying babies.
