Are You Someone Or Do You Know Someone Who...

Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized?
Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our Faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of the Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. There are separate sessions for children or youth. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights, and your faith story in a warm, accepting setting. The next OWLS gathering will be on Friday, September 18th at 5:30pm in Kollross Hall. Join us for a dinner of Italian Beef. Please bring a side dish or dessert and a $5 donation. A representative from the Chatham Library will join us to speak about resources and renovations currently taking place.

Now Hiring – Parish Administrative Assistant
St. Joseph the Worker in Chatham is seeking a full-time Parish Administrative Assistant, preferably a practicing Catholic in good standing, to support the daily operations of the parish office.
This position includes office administration, communications, parishioner support, and recordkeeping. Candidates should be organized, warm and welcoming, detail-oriented, and very comfortable using Canva and Microsoft Office Suite. Office experience is required.
Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm.

The Springfield Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (SDCCW) awarded four $2,000 scholarships to these outstanding young women from across the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois:

✨ Callie Faller — St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, Dieterich
✨ Hannah Essex — St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Chatham
✨ Mia Lieberman — Mother of Perpetual Help Parish, Maryville
✨ Leah Kulek — Little Flower Parish, Springfield

Selected from more than 50 applicants, these young women demonstrated a strong commitment to their Catholic faith, service, education, and their parish communities.

The 8:30 A. M. Mass and Adoration at St. Joseph the Worker is cancelled this Friday, 09/04/2026. A 10:00 A.M. funeral Mass for Donna Arnold will be held.
