WE ARE ALL IMPACTED. We are saddened and outraged by yesterday’s shooting that killed two young children and one young adult, injured 17, and left us grieving and afraid. This tragedy at Annunciation Catholic Church and School in south Minneapolis has shaken families and communities across Minnesota and beyond, including many of our local congregations. Maxine F. Buckentine
(August 6, 1939 - August 8, 2025 )

Maxine F. Buckentine age 86 of Chaska, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday August 13, at 11:00 A.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with Rev. Penny Entringer as officiant. Visitation Tuesday August 12, 2025 from 4-7 P.M. and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment Zoar United Church of Christ Cemetery.

Maxine was born on August 6, 1939 in Shakopee, MN the daughter of Harold and Florence (Bessel) Otto.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; parents Harold and Florence Otto; son Greg Buckentine; daughter-in-law Jean Buckentine; granddaughter-in-law Mackenzie Buckentine; brother Melvin Otto; sister Hazel Otto.

Maxine is survived by her loving family: sons Alan (Nancy) Buckentine of Cologne, John Buckentine of Chaska, Daryl Buckentine and fiancee Jeanie of Norwood Young America, Randy (Rhea) Buckentine of Chaska; grandchildren Brooke (Matt) Simones, Megan (Jon) Kraemer, Adam (Lisa) Buckentine, Heidi Buckentine, Mike Buckentine, Katie (Matt) Huntting, Anna Buckentine and Brodie Maresch, Nathan, Gavin Buckentine, Carter Buckentine, Tyler Buckentine, Zane; great-grandchildren Henry, Arthur, Nolan and Violet Simones, Otto, Ada and Milo Kraemer, Shay and Fritz Buckentine, Paul and Lydia Buckentine; sister Betty Schneewind of Cologne; sisters-in-law Pearl Lenzen of Granite Falls, Virginia Bessel of Belle Plaine; brother-in-law Charles Koehler of St. Louis Park; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers are her grandchildren and spouses.
