Thank-you to everyone who helped with our Spring Cleaning and deck redo. It smells & looks great inside and outside too :) Special shout-out to Steve. H., Duke, Dawn & Michelle for their work on getting the back ramp redone - done.
Last Sunday, May 31st, Middle approved a bid of $15,000 for 2 Twinned furnaces and duct cleaning. This was a needed capital improvement and your support is appreciated. If you would like to donate to Middle's furnace fund, note “Furnace Fund” in the memo line of any checks or gifts made out to Middle C**n Valley. If you are willing to help with other ways to financially support or fundraise for this venture, talk with President Teresa, or any church council member.

NO worship at Middle on June 7th. Instead join us and our neighbors at Riverside Park for worship. Middle members will sit opposite the river toward the front - where we have sat previous years. Join us!

Join us June 9th from 5 to 7 at Share Night at Culver's on Mormon Coulee Rd!! Stop in for a meal or a cold custard treat and support us. A Place for Angels appreciates you!!

Join your friends, neighbors, and fellow synod members at the "Lumberyard" on July 12 for a fun-filled Synod Night Out of food, fellowship, and La Crosse Loggers baseball! Sign-up and more information to come.

Movie & Conversation - "Wake-up Deadman: a Knives Out Mystery" - rated PG 13 offers opportunities to ponder what it means to be faithful and to extend grace in a world that offers us anything but grace. Detective Benoit Blanc teams up with an earnest young priest to investigate a perfectly impossible crime at a small-town church with a dark history. Sunday, June 28th , 2pm – 5pm at Westby C**n Prairie. Snacks will be provided and a short discussion will follow the viewing of this suspenseful movie which portrays themes of faith and community. For those who want to do a bit of research prior to the viewing, read Christian Century's December 2025 article on "Wake-Up Deadman" (https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/wake-up-dead-man-christian-review/).

Thrivent members: remember to take advantage of Thrivent Choice, a program that allows you to contribute to over 40,000 organizations that align with your values and interests. Middle is one of those organizations. This program is a wonderful way to make your financial gifts stretch further and have a significant impact. It's not just about giving; it's about making a difference in a way that's meaningful to you, so keep Middle in mind as you use Thrivent Choice dollars.

Cards and Shawls as prayers: If you know of someone who needs a prayer shawl - just take one from one of the tubs above the coat rack in the entryway. Be sure to add your name to the list inside the container who you are taking it for. There are also half sheets with a short prayer to use if you wish.

If you know of someone who could benefit from a card of encouragement from our Middle community because of on-going illness or death let SueAnn know.

We are collecting Pop Can Tabs in the narthex to go to the Ronald McDonald House. We are also collecting any clean plastic: Walmart type bags, zip lock bags, the plastic wrapping on paper towels or toilet paper. This plastic is recycled into benches. It takes 5000 pounds to make a bench. There will be a container for these items in the narthex as well.

Creative ways to financially support Middle's Ministry:
· Sign up for Simply Giving - an automatic bank withdraw program
· Give your Thrivent Choice Dollars to Middle

NOTICE: Because our constitution states: “The Congregation Council may enter into contracts
of up to 5% of the estimated receipts for items not included in the budget.” Council is calling a
special meeting to approve a bid of $11,582 from Schneider Heating and Cooling for 2 Twinned furnaces and a bid of $2,000 for duct cleaning from Lappins LLC.
The meeting will be held at the beginning of worship on May 31st.
A few other things of note:
· A down payment of 25% is needed to before the furnace installation, with a payment within 30 days of completion.
· These furnaces are 120,000 BTU, 97% efficient, 1 stage with a 10 year warranty and 1 year labor, lifetime heat exchanger.
· The goal is to have furnaces installed in September and duct cleaning prior to installment.
· Air conditioning was considered but the bid of $39,428 did not seem worth the expense.
· We currently have around $4,500 in our Buildings and Grounds Fund, as well around $5,000 in our Undesignated Fund. We have also established a separate Furnace Fund that members will be encouraged to contribute money too. Other options for funding are being considered.
· FYI: Council has approved entering into a yearly furnace maintenance agreement for 3 years with Schneider ($550 per year / can be serviced 2X a year)
