Heating up the Valley Raffle: Our church is raising funds for new furnaces and we are hosting a raffle with attractive cash prizes. Tickets can be purchased for $100 each, and only 200 tickets will be sold. The raffle drawing is scheduled for August 30th after worship. Check out Middle's page for more information.

Thank-you to those who provide snacks for our Sunday morning fellowship time and for everyone who contributes money to support our extended ministries.

2nd, 4th & 5th Sundays: C**n Valley’s new food program, “A Table Together”
A Table Together meal on Wednesday, August 19th, where Middle CV will be hosting! Our target is 75–100 people. The menu is set for pulled pork, baked potatoes, coleslaw, fruit, vegetables, and desserts. Opportunities to sign up coming soon or contact Twyla Sandvick. In addition to food donations, you can sign up to help. 8 to 10 volunteers are needed across setup, serving, and cleanup shifts.
God's Work; Our Hands Sunday - September 6th at Chaseburg Park
You are invited to participate in our community clean up, creating hope and pride in our community’s resilience this last year and to prepare for hosting the Chaseburg Cancer Walk
9:00 – 9:40 Worship at the Chaseburg Shelter – dress to work or in your MCV T-shirt
9:40 – 11:10 Work projects
11:15 –11:30 Work/ Finish up / tidy & enjoy a simple lunch
If you are able to help with the lunch, visit with Pastor Meg
Work part of the time or the entire time! All willing hands are helpful – regardless of age.
Supplies that would be helpful to bring: Weed-eaters – for w**d whacking; Leaf blowers, rakes, hoes, pruning shears, trimming tools; Gloves & garbage bags for trail clean up; Pails, rags & baskets.
Religion, Society and Civility
A conversational offering between DB Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership at Viterbo University & the La Crosse Area Synod of the ELCA. Civility isn’t just being polite; it consists of the social norms that together undergird citizenship and make a healthy society possible.
So, we must ask:
How can we restore civility to our lives, and what is the role of religion in that restoration?

It’s time to start the School kits for Lutheran World Relief! These kits are sent to children in need in our country and other countries around the world!
Each school kit includes the following items: Four spiral notebooks (wide- or college-ruled), one ruler, one pair of blunt scissors, five unsharpened pencils, pencil sharpener, pens, crayons (16 or 24) and eraser. School supplies usually start coming out in stores in mid-July. There is a tub in the back of church to collect them starting then. School kits will be assembled on Sunday, Sept. 27. Thank you for your support of this ministry!!

Pete is back!!! Plans for Middle include regular pulpit supply for Sundays (Rev. Pete B.) and other pastors who will be on-call for emergencies and funerals. There are funds that have been set aside to cover these expenses in Middle’s Sabbatical fund.

Middle's Insurance has changed. Council over the course of the last year has reviewed our building insurance and has switched carriers to one that offers similar coverage but saving Middle $2,000. Good work council! Extra love and appreciation for advice and work from Lynn C., J.J. W. and Marie.

Every three years, thousands of high schoolers and their adult leaders from across the ELCA come together for the ELCA Youth Gathering. It’s not just an event but a movement in which faith ignites and community comes alive. Through inspiring speakers, experiential learning and transformative connections, young people experience the church in bold, unforgettable ways. Each night, participants share a unique faith experience through high-energy worship and powerful storytelling. The Gathering is an opportunity to ask big questions, grow in faith and be part of something bigger than yourself. Are you ready to join the movement?
If you are going into 8th – 12th grade this fall – YOU are eligible to attend this coming summer’s 2027 National Youth Gathering.

Cards and Shawls as prayers: If you know of someone who needs a prayer shawl - just take one from one of the tubs above the coat rack in the entryway. Be sure to add your name to the list inside the container who you are taking it for. There are also half sheets with a short prayer to use if you wish.
If you know of someone who could benefit from a card of encouragement from our Middle community because of on-going illness or death let SueAnn H. know. You can reach her at: (920) 400-7246 or leave her a note in her church mailbox with the person's name, address and reason for the card.
We are collecting Pop Can Tabs in the narthex to go to the Ronald McDonald House. We are also collecting any clean plastic: Walmart type bags, zip lock bags, the plastic wrapping on paper towels or toilet paper. This plastic is recycled into benches. It takes 5000 pounds to make a bench. There will be a container for these items in the narthex as well.

The Kwik Trip Card Fundraiser supports our Middle ministry! The funds raised from the sale of Kwik Trip Gas Cards go to the general operating fund. Money raised from Kwik Trip Car Wash Cards are deposited in the Youth Fund which also supports the Intergenerational trips. Please contact Marie H. for Kwik Trip gas and Lynn J. for car wash needs.
