Busy day at MCC as we shared book bags, school uniforms, clothing, diapers, baby bundles and more with families in our community. So thankful to the “Dream Team” who worked so hard to prepare and help at today’s event. By our estimate, we’ve given over 125 book bags and school supplies away and that’s not a full count as some of our social workers that partner with us pick out supplies for families they serve. We welcomed new families today as well as reconnected with families we have not seen in a long time. I know there are a lot of excited children ready to head back to the classroom and we are so thankful to our teachers for all they do each and every day to help these students do their very best. We will be sharing leftover supplies with several local teachers and schools.
Thank you to Thrift UMC for allowing us to serve out of their building and to Assurance UMC for your continued support that enables us to better serve the needs in our community. God is good!!!!

Busy day at Matthew’s Community Closet as we filled quite a few clothing emergency needs as well as sorted and shared 10 back packs with families that dropped by. Thank you Sandra, Julie, Arlene and my granddaughter Juniper for ALL your help. Thank you to Evelyn for dropping by with donations!!! Next Thursday will be our final Back to School event where families that didn’t get their book bags in July can come and pick out back packs. Reconnected with one of our former Connections youth, Jahqueda today at Matthew’s Community Closet. Jahqueda saw our post about helping Moms in need with baby items and she donated a car load of wonderful baby gear, clothing, diapers and the list goes on and on. Lisa, Shannon and I were so blessed by our visit today and getting to see her precious 10 month old baby boy. We are incredibly proud of Jahqueda and her big heart for helping others. Love love these stories of Moms helping Moms. Beautiful!!! God is good!!!!

Busy day at Matthew’s Community Closet. We helped around 60 get needed clothing and gave away 37 book bags. We have some families starting back in early August so we had to do an early back pack event and will plan to help later in August with families that missed today. A special shout out to Pastor Josh for coming down and sharing a beautiful back pack blessing prayer. I forgot to get pics of all our volunteers today! Thank you Regina, Lori, Julie, Liz, Alison, Nina, Anna, Carolina, Yary for ALL your help today!!! We were excited to welcome some new families to the closet today and helped a handful of pregnant moms. What a blessing to serve together and help so many families today. Grateful to Assurance UMC and Thrift UMC for your ongoing support❤️✝️❤️

17 emergency needs filled today including emergency car seat install. We helped 2 pregnant Moms due very soon. One of the moms shared just before leaving.. thanks to MCC I have everything I need for my new baby. She was incredibly grateful for the help she received today and plans to keep us updated on babies arrival etc. I’m so thankful to everyone that donates to MCC to allow us to continue to serve our community. Thank you to our amazing volunteers that worked so hard today!!! If you see Regina, Nina, Anna, Liz, Arlene, Julie, Lori, Kathy or Carolina, please thank them!!! Thank you to Lisa Hawkins and everyone from Caterpillar Ministries for your generous donation of diapers that will benefit many families that we serve throughout Mecklenburg county!!! So grateful for the partnership we share❤️❤️it takes a village!!!!!

Busy day at MCC. I’m so thankful to everyone that makes this ministry possible. Some days, miracles happen!! We had a baby in NICU coming home soon that needed infant car seat, and we were out…..until one of my former neighbors came with a car load of baby items and we were able to send our community health worker on her way to hospital with a really nice infant car seat!!! God is good!!!! We also had Nina with us today who knows how to show families how to use their new pack n play. We sometimes get so busy that we don’t have time to check every donated item so today Nina made sure everything was in working order!!! We also welcomed Liz to the “Dream Team” and she jumped right in and helped fill needs and helped our referrals find what they were looking for!!! Thank you Julie, Liz, Lori, Nina for ALL your help today and Regina who worked yesterday helping us prepare for today!!! So many stories today and we are grateful to be able to make a difference in the lives of families in our community!!! Thankful to Assurance UMC and Thrift UMC for ALL your help!!!!! ❤️🙏🏻❤️

So wonderful to catch up with Shawn today. She was in town for her nephew’s graduation so we quickly pulled together lunch and a visit to MCC. Shawn has always had a gift for praying the most beautiful, heartfelt prayers and we were fortunate enough to hear one today. Safe travels back to Indiana tomorrow Shawn❤️We love you and are grateful for our time together.

Thank you “Dream Team” members Julie, Lori and Regina for ALL your help today!!! We pulled for 21 emergency needs and Perry and Regina dropped some needed items over to Huntington Green today!! We also had several Moms due soon stop by and we were able to help them. So thankful to our neighbors and church community that donates to MCC. We were almost out of newborn and 0-3 baby girl clothing and as you can see from picture, we were able to replenish that size. Thanks be to God!!!!
