Ben Salem Presbyterian Church We strive to know Christ and make Him Known!

Prayer doesn’t always have to begin with, “Lord, I need…” Sometimes the most meaningful prayer is simply, “Thank You, Lord.”

Thank You for waking me, keeping me, providing for me, protecting me, and forgiving me. Thank You for another chance. Thank You that what tried to destroy me did not succeed. Thank You for remaining faithful—even when I wasn’t.

Today, before asking God for anything else, take a moment to thank Him for everything He has already done.

Sometimes we become so focused on the big miracle we’re waiting for that we miss the smaller miracles God has already placed around us.

The breath in our lungs. The strength to face another day. The person who genuinely loves us. The ways God is working even when we cannot see Him.

Gratitude may not give us more things, but it opens our eyes to the richness already present in our lives. Today, pause and thank God for the little miracles.

People change. Plans change. Circumstances shift without warning. But our gratitude doesn’t have to rise and fall with what happens around us.

When our thanksgiving is rooted in who Jesus is, we have a reason to praise even when life feels uncertain. Yesterday He was faithful. Today He is present. Tomorrow He will still be God.

Anchor your gratitude in the One who never changes.

Gratitude doesn’t require us to pretend that everything is okay. We can still be waiting, grieving, questioning, and wiping away tears—and find a reason to thank God.

Thanksgiving in the meantime says, “Lord, I don’t have every answer, but I still trust Your heart. I haven’t received everything I asked for, but I haven’t forgotten how good You’ve already been.”

Even here. Even now. Thank You, Lord.

Some blessings are easy to remember. Others were quietly placed along the way—doors God closed, dangers He kept away, needs He met before we even knew we had them.

When we examine the “receipts” of our lives, one truth remains: God has been good. And His goodness isn’t only a story from yesterday; it is unfolding in our lives right now.

What evidence of God’s goodness can you see today?
