Life chain at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. We had a great turnout and a lot of support from people in cars passing by. Only a couple of protests which is a change from pass years. That is encouraging. Thank you, Jesus. Keep praying for the scales to fall off people's eyes and that they see and embrace truth.

The Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments today in the Case(s) of FDA / Danco v Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine over the issue of the legality (but ultimately overall safety) of filling prescriptions for mail order abortifacients. The drugs in question are Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Until 2016 the medications had to be prescribed in person, through three visits by a doctor. Since 2016 the FDA has relaxed its requirements and now the drug can be ordered over the phone through an unlicensed pharmacist and obtained through the mail. This new method of accessibility changes the “Abortion should be a decision between a woman and her Doctor” mantra to Abortion being a decision between a woman and her telemarketing rep. In any case the illusion of qualified Doctors being in the loop of these important decisions (the driver of the original Roe decision) has been completely thrown out the window

Mifepristone works by blocking progesterone, an essential hormone for the development of a pregnancy, which in effect starves the baby. Misoprostol works in tandem to empty the Uterus by causing cramping and bleeding; in other words, an intentional miscarriage. The associated hemorrhaging and cramping are severe and can last for months.

The Dobbs decision overturning Roe v Wade sent the issue of Abortion back to the individual states. What makes this case such a lightning rod is the changing nature of the Pro Abortion narrative since 1973. When Abortion was legalized by the Roe decision as "the Law of the Land" in 1973, the Supreme Court Justices rationalized that the legalization of Abortion would provide regulation and thus safety. The proponents of Abortion argued that over 10,000 women were dying every year from "Back Alley Abortions." This figure was presented to the Court by Bernard Nathanson (an Abortion Activist) who later admitted this figure was a lie. So much of what the Abortion industry relies on are mistruths and lies. But he got what he wanted. The Justices, moved by his phony virtue signaling were inspired to rule in his favor and legalize Abortion Nationwide. However, any attempts at regulating or inspecting Abortion facilities (to ensure their safety) were and are met with fierce resistance. It is fair to state that restaurants and nail salons are inspected with more regularity than Abortion Clinics. While an Abortion Facility may not Look like a Back Alley it has the same standard of care. So all that happened with "Roe v Wade" was that the "Back Alley Moved to the Front Office" with regard to Abortion Safety.

The reason why the push for greater "accessibility" of these drugs by the Abortion Industry is such a travesty lies in the unsupervised administration of the Mother after the pill is taken. Doctor's are NOT present after the Mother takes these drugs. The side effects are severe, painful, bloody and possibly fatal. Even the FDA studies disclose 4.5% of the Women will wind up in the Emergency Room (Hemorrhaging and Sepsis are the main reasons for ER Visits.) In addition, the gestational age for which these drugs can be prescribed has been raised from Seven Weeks to Ten! The picture included with this post shows what a Ten Week Old Baby Looks like. It is NOT a Clump of Cells but a Well formed Human with its internal organs formed, a rapidly beating Heart and a developing brain able to send synapses through the spinal cord to all movement of its limbs and fingers.

We need to pray that we as a country recognize the Value of both the Mothers and their Pre Born Babies' Lives and work to build the Network of Pregnancy Resource Centers which offer the Choice of LIFE.

Although we should always be giving alms, praying and fasting, Lent is a time when we especially focus on these things. Almsgiving doesn't always mean giving money to the poor or a homeless person on the street which are great things to do but there are other ways to also give, maybe in addition to these. I’m posting this today to ask my local facebook friends to consider giving alms to my parish for much-needed renovations. For example, the carpet in our sanctuary is so worn that it is literally being held together with duct tape! There are many things that need repairing and renovating and as you can imagine it’s extremely expensive. We could use all the financial help we can get. If you can help, please do. You can mail a check to 6828 Old Reid Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Please specify that it is for parish renovations by writing that on the memo line of your check. Thank you so much for your consideration.

We Need to Stand Up! Thank You Coach Harbaugh! The Truth is always the Truth...Even if the World Rejects it.

‘Have The Courage To Let The Unborn Be Born’ - University of Michigan Head Football Coach on July 17, 2022 at Plymouth Right to Life annual dinner

“I love life. I believe in having a loving care and respect for life and death. My faith and my science are what drives these beliefs in me.”

He then quoted Jeremiah 1:5, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart. I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Harbaugh, a Catholic with seven children, one of whom coaches with him as an assistant, had his pro-life beliefs instilled in him from a young age, he said. While he acknowledged that unplanned pregnancies “might involve incredible hardship for the mother, family and society,” he concluded that abortion “results in the death of an unborn person.”
“We talk about sanctity of life, and yet we live in a society that aborts babies. There can’t be anything more horrendous,” Harbaugh previously said.
