Encounter God in Prayer…
Invitation

Father of love, thank you for inviting me into fellowship with you. You are not impatiently waiting for me to get it together. You are full of joy, not condemnation. I throw aside the guilt that has kept me from approaching you with the confidence of a dearly loved child. As I draw near to you, I find that your kindness never wavers and your love never recedes. You have been waiting for this moment, right here and now, longing to commune with me.

I will not stay on the sidelines any longer; I won’t circle your table, hoping for crumbs to fall in my direction. I come boldly before you, believing that I have a place at your table of plenty. Not only do I have a place to sit and feast, but you have also given me your listening ear. As I use my voice, whether with a whisper or a shout, you delight in the exchange of fellowship. I freely offer you my worship today, Jesus, for you are always worthy.

I Hear His Whisper...
Rest with me.

I care deeply for you, my child. There is nothing that you feel or experience that I don’t also experience as I carry you through life. My hand is upon you, and nothing will take you away from my love. Quietly wait on me, and you will feel my nearness. You will hear me whisper into your soul, and my peace will descend upon you.

My little one, there is a hiding place you can find in me. It is a place of my tangible affection, created for you to dwell in. The shadow you see over you is the shadow of my wings—not a shadow of confusion, but a shady place of safety beside my heart. Here you will be refreshed. Here you will see from my perspective. For I have taken you from troubled waters and lifted you higher to rest in my presence. No matter how dark the night or how fierce the trial, my kiss of mercy will keep and protect you.

You can run under his covering of majesty and hide. His arms of faithfulness are a shield keeping you from harm.

Encounter God’s Heart…
Prayer for Wisdom

God is a God of details. He has all the wisdom that we need. Do we struggle to find our way in our limited understanding, or do we press into the Lord for more wisdom, more discernment, and more instruction? He never turns a cold shoulder or ignores our cries for help when we call out. He is more than willing to share his perspective with us and to guide us with his unmatched wisdom.

Whatever it is that we need help understanding, the Lord knows. He always has heavenly solutions for our earthly problems. He has the best answers for our most difficult questions. His wisdom brings clarity where the fog of confusion has set in. May we pray to God and wait on his help when we need it. He gives direction through a variety of ways, and we know his voice by the fruit of his Spirit in our lives.

Spirit of Wisdom, I need your direction, your solutions, and your help. I rely on you. Thank you for fellowship, where I can know you Spirit to spirit. Speak to me. I am listening!

I Hear His Whisper...
Hope is never far.

Fix your eyes on me in your joys and in your pain. I am celebrating with you in your victories and comforting you in your disappointments. Come to me when you are weary and burdened. I will give you rest. I hear the cries of your heart even when they don’t reach your lips. I see every hidden regret and frustration. I see the pain that setbacks have caused you. But child, I am still with you, and I am making all things new.

Watch what my love can do as I restore to you the joy of your salvation. Hope that seemed impractical even moments ago is now within reach. Don’t you know that I never stop rescuing my beloved ones? You cannot sink into a pit where I cannot reach you. Even now, my love-light is shining on you. I am closer than you realize, working in ways you have yet to recognize. Don’t fear abandonment. I never, ever forsake my own, and you belong to me. I surround you with songs of deliverance when you cannot see a way out of your troubles. I am behind and before you, leading you into the joy of my freedom.

Encounter God’s Heart…
Our Defender

Jesus is our Faithful Defender. The One who rushes to our side when it feels like all hell is coming against us. In times when we feel as if we’ve been taken advantage of or neglected, he comes as our righteous judge to defend and uphold. He is our strength when ours has dissipated.

Everything about Jesus is pure, righteous, and untainted. He judges the world with matchless wisdom. Sees things others have missed. Knows the truth the deceitful try to hide. If you have been misused, exploited, or misunderstood, I have good news. Your Righteous Judge is also your Comforter and Friend. He will not only expose darkness, his healing balm will mend your heart. Whatever injustice you’re facing today, know that you do not face it alone. The confidence of the humble is the strength of the One inside.

Jesus, reach down and lift me up so no evil can touch me. You are the God of Justice. The One who rules in righteousness and sweeps away oppression. As for me, I will walk before you in innocence because I know there is great reward in loving you. You will keep me safe from my enemies.

I Hear His Whisper...
Let me teach you again.

My child, I want to teach you things you’ve never known. I want you to relearn the lessons you thought you grasped. Just because I revealed myself to you and poured out revelation, doesn’t mean you’ve mastered the fullness of it. Allow me to unearth the hidden gems of my wisdom for you. Dig into them with me, and I will teach you greater things.

I want to enlighten your understanding. I want you to find me living inside of you—to be so grounded in your identity that trials don’t knock you out. I want you to learn how to conquer the battles of the earthly realm by staying fixated on the substance of my Spirit within you. Embrace the mysteries of my kingdom. Be comfortable with the mysteries of creation and the wonder of my mercy. Dive into the mysteries of the heavenly realm. Come up higher, and I will train you in the ways of inexhaustible and unfathomable faith. There is more to learn that you can possibly imagine.

Encounter God in Prayer…
Protected

I have built my life upon your love. Creator of heaven and earth, you are always by my side, sheltering me and protecting me. When the storms of life rage, you are the foundation that cannot be shaken.

So many times I have looked for help that is tangible—something I can grasp with my hands and see with my eyes. But then I realize that you are my true help. You’re never too busy for me. Day or night, you are with me—always watching over me, even when I don’t realize it.

You alone are worthy of every song, of every breath, of all of my praise. You declared peace over me. You redeemed me from every curse of destruction. The atmosphere changes when you are near, and I know you’ll keep me safe. I rest under the shadow of your wings. I delight in your love.

Take the Pathway to Peace
Trust is the pathway to peace. For there is no fear where trust exists. Love breeds trust, and perfect love casts out all fear. Trust in Me with all your heart and lean not unto your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Me, and I will direct your steps.

Trust Father to lead and guide you every step of the way into a broad place of blessing where you can come to know Him in a new way. He wants to encounter you today and every day. Trust that He is with you always, and look for His blessings.

I trust You, Lord. Help me trust You more. I choose to trust You with everything in me. Show me the places of my heart that I am holding back because of fear. I am determined to trust You with all that I am and all that I have. Help me.

I don’t change.

The same God who arranged the stars in the heavens is the God who revealed himself in flesh and bones through Jesus. I am the One who was, who is, and who is to come. I am Creator, I am Sustainer, and I am Redeemer. I am mighty and victorious. I am love embodied. I am the I AM. I never change, and I never will.

If you question my goodness, look at my character. I am faithful to my Word. I am consistent in kindness. In me there is fullness of glory. I never tire, never sleep, and never miss a thing. I don’t ever leave my loyal lovers to rely on their own strength. In me is an abundance of grace, mercy, and power. I am never defeated. Even when it looked like death had won, I was victorious. I am the resurrection and the life, and I will be forever. I am the God of the humble. I am your God, and you belong to me. I will never lead you where I have not already gone. Bind your heart to mine, and I will always lead you in loyal love.

Encounter God’s Heart…
Pass It Along

The love of God is larger than we can imagine, and his mercy reaches further than we would ever dare go. There is no place in this universe where we could escape from his Spirit. There is no place we could possibly hide from him. Why, then, would we try to keep our understanding of him within the parameters of our own limited experience?

We don’t have to grasp what God is doing in order to trust him. We don’t have to fear those who are different from us or who worship differently either. God is a faithful leader to all who look to him, and he answers all who call on his name. Let’s take the opportunity of today to open our spirits wide to expand our discernment, training our hearts to listen when God speaks. When he does, let’s share it with those we love.

Loving Lord, I don’t want to keep your goodness to myself. I don’t want to live so privately that my loved ones don’t know the conversations you and I have. Help me to be intentional about sharing my breakthroughs and revelation with those around me.

“Look Ahead to Your Destiny
Don't look back. I know it hurts. I know your wounds. I know your disappointments. I saw the betrayals. I saw the tears. I was with you through the pain, and I am here to make it right. I will work it all - the hurt, the disappointment, the betrayals - together for your good because you love Me and I love you. I will give you beauty for ashes. But you have to leave those ashes behind so I can resurrect with newness of life those things the enemy tried to steal, kill, and destroy. Remember Lot's wife. Don't look back. Your destiny is ahead, and I am leading you toward your dreams.

Prayer

Thank You for Your healing power in my soul. Give me the strength to press beyond the past and toward my high calling in Christ. Show me how to make the divine exchange that will give me beauty for ashes, and I will glorify Your name.

“Determine to Follow Your Desires”
Determine to follow your desires, for I have placed those desires in your heart as you have delighted yourself in Father. As you continue to seek first the kingdom and Our righteousness, I will direct your steps on a lighted path that will take you where we both want you to go. Apart from Christ you can do nothing, but you are not apart from Christ. You are in Christ, and He is in you. If you determine to reach His high calling for you and lean and depend on Me to guide you, nothing shall by any means stop you.

Prayer”

Thank You for Your faithfulness to the dreams You have put in my heart. Give me a determined heart that will not turn to the right or to the left. Help me to stay focused on Your perfect will for me this day and every day.
