Foster Care is HARD. And kiddos are suffering. It is such a privilege and it is very rewarding to be the voice of children to the court. Kids need you. And you will have a special way to minister to the foster families, biological families, and social workers. I have a full-time job and a contracting job, I am still able to put my family first. If you are a Christ-follower, James 1:27 is not a suggestion, it is mandated. When you become a CASA (Court-Appointed-Special-Advocate) or GAL (Guardian Ad Litem), you will be literally "visiting the fatherless". If you would like to know more, please contact me!

I am so passionate about God's commandment to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love the neighbor as yourself - and my most vulnerable neighbors are the children growing up outside of their family and those who do not have permanency. You will hear my heart and those of others in this program. It's been 8 years since I have been a part of this movement, 4 years since I came on board on the Orphan Sunday Leadership Team for Christian Alliance for Orphans. And it has been 20 years since God spoke to two pastors who did not know each other, across the ocean.

When I ran for office, I vowed to be a voice for children and families, especially those in the Foster Care system. I was proud to be the primary sponsor for HB 769 Foster Parents Bill of Rights that passed this week in the House 112-0. I am thankful for the support of my colleagues Rep. Erin Pare and Rep. Matthew Winslow for joining me on this bill and for working for the amazing families in our Foster Care system. Earlier this week, we had a chance to speak about the bill at a press conference and were joined by Foster Parents, Advocacy Groups, and NC DHHS who all supported this effort.
