The Montagnard Mission began as Community in Christ Lutheran Church sought to provide a place and community of care and support for Montagnard Refugees in the Charlotte area. The Montagnard Mission is part of a larger vision that includes two specific areas of focus - education and faith. Approximately 400 refugees in the Charlotte area are currently being served through our programs - primarily a
round three separate communities in the east and west sections of the Charlotte metro area. It’s estimated that approximately 2,000 - 3,000 Montagnard refugees live in the area. The Montagnard Project branch of our programs focuses on providing basic life needs and skill development for these families to help them successfully assimilate into American society. This organization serves approximately 400 refugees in the Charlotte area - primarily around three separate communities in the east and west sections of the Charlotte metro area. It’s estimated that approximately 2,000 - 3,000 Montagnards live in the area. Our programs focus on providing basic life needs, cultural assimilation support, and skill development for these families so that they may successfully assimilate into American society. The Montagnard Project branch of our programs include a large weekly tutoring program at AMF Lutheran Church in Charlotte, ESL classes for parents, sports programs, field trips, food and clothing distribution, and paperwork assistance. The Montagnard Mission branch of our programs include a large weekly youth worship service, Bible studies, a large children's choir, 3 dance teams.
