2 Corinthians 3;16-18
But whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
Galatians 5;1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bo***ge.
Romans 3;3-8
What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all!
Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?” Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just.
Good Morning Brothers and Sisters,
On this day it is my express will to ask you to become serious about the belief in this Word of God. It is my express will to have you sit down, and begin to contemplate why it is that you may have difficulty believing in this Word of God: that it is God's Word, spoken by God; to be the Word that will bring nothing else but fullness of God's benefit to our eternal life based on our own personal willingness to be submitted, obedient, and faithful to it-being God's Word.
Okay, first, how many of us truly are serious about living a life that is Sanctified? The reason why this question must be asked first is due to the truth that Sanctified means Separated. Yes, as in "Not Of This World". To be Sanctified is to be set apart. And, if we are them who have made our profession of faith-to receive Salvation-well, then, we are to know that we are living as Sanctified individuals, Set apart from those who have not made the profession of faith and have become the recipients of Salvation.
Do we know this? If we do know this, why do we probably not believe this?
Secondly, to know that God's Word is to be believed, and it is believed, does not have to be based in our feelings any longer. This belief in God's Word is not feelings based. How can that statement be made?
Does water freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit?
Now, if we all have accepted that this is truth, then we all believe this. No one needs to be in water, at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, to feel that water is freezing. No. If that is believed it doesn't have to be felt. The same with God's Word. It is truth, which we believe, and we do not have to feel that it is believable.
Lastly, let us (those of us who say we do believe) be very critical in our thinking and reasoning of what is man-as belonging to man-and what is God-what does confirm that His Word is Truth. I will utilize one brief example: Slavery
There is a very well acknowledged presentation that those who enslaved Africans to bring them over to these United States used the Word of God as a mechanism to keep control over those enslaved Africans. One of the most frequently heard statements is this:
"That Bible of yours is a tool of the white man to keep you enslaved."
Again, this is the part where you are asked to be a critical thinker about what belongs to man, and what belongs to God. You are also being asked to be serious about your belief in God's Word. Because, there has to be evidence put to the accusation for it to hold up.
Yes, there were white men who did kidnap Africans in order to enslave them for selfish gain. Yes, there were white men that did bring those Africans to this America, and brutalized them for more than 300 years. Yes, there were white men that did, and more than likely still do, apply God's Word in their rhetoric to bring mental enslavement to the mind of minorities. But, that is not what belongs to God. That is what belongs to man.
See, today's encouragement is for us to get serious about what we believe: being God's Word.
It is either we believe it-in it's totality, or we do not believe any of it. For it is not God which would have the believer to be enslaved or to enslave another believer. To not believe in God, His Word, or His Will actually leaves an individual in the place to be a slave: a slave to sin. Because all that is left for that individual to live according to is sin. Just like those certain white men who began to enslave Africans. They were servants to sin. Committing acts of sin. Sinful acts which continued to produce more sin. Sin giving birth to sin.
And we all believe that sin is not of God, right?
I'll Holla,
Bro Stokes
