St. Stephen Kids and St. Stephen Preschool had so much fun at this week's Halloween Carnival! So much candy! So many smiles! And awesome costumes! Thanks to all the St. Stephen Kids Ministry workers, St. Stephen Preschool staffers, our Troop 118 scouts, and our St. Stephen Youth for serving and making it such a great event for our kids and families!

Today is our awesome Office Administrator Mandy Chandler's birthday! Staff celebrated with her today by giving her some of her favorite Halloween candy, Candy Corn and Mounds! The next time you see Mandy, be sure to wish her a happy birthday and say, “Thanks!” for all the great work she does keeping St. Stephen organized, connecting new guests and members to church life, and overseeing often overlooked and under-appreciated areas like our HVAC systems, and so much more!

Pastor Ken's message on Sunday used the contrast between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea to share a powerful message about how our generosity can be used to bless others. Some issues with streaming affected our Oct. 11 worship and again yesterday our full livestream was prevented from being viewed after it aired. You can find the stand-alone sermon plus a link to the full livestream on our worship archive online.

St. Stephen was busy last week as we strove through our actions to be the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus in our community. Missions Week included a variety of service opportunities — hundreds of meals packed for our homeless neighbors, creation care activities, food sorting and delivering with Nourish Up, service at Matthews HELP Center, a kids card-writing activity to our homebound members, and so much more!

Did you know today is International Coffee Day? Bring us a cup over here at St. Stephen, because Missions Week is busy and we keep rolling along. Last night, members met to make hundreds of sandwiches they delivered to Roof Above today and our children made cards for several of our homebound members. Five more opportunities to serve are coming up this Saturday!

Missions Week at St. Stephen continues on Wednesday, Sept. 30 with two opportunities open to everyone in your family. Help us make 400 sandwiches for our neighbors experiencing homelessness and bring your kids by during a drop-in to write "thinking of you" cards to our homebound members! Registration encouraged but not at all required!

Missions Week at St. Stephen is off to a full-steam start! On Sunday, members gathered to pack meals for Feeding Charlotte, while two of our best green thumbs got busy preparing sites for our raised flower beds to be installed later this week. Our next serving opportunities are this Wednesday, but there are many more to choose from throughout this week and this weekend. Learn more and sign up via link in first comment below!
