Customarily, beginning in the fourth week of the Fast, the Church offers focused prayers not simply for catechumens, but for those who are in their final approach to “illumination”: entering Christ, who is the Light of the World.
As much as the Great Forty Days are a time of spiritual discipline, recollection, and renewal for the faithful, they are also a time of final formation for those who are preparing to join the Church.
Let’s combine our prayers for these future brothers and sisters in Christ, whom we prepare to receive on Holy Saturday, April 11. 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙙, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙖 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙.
