This semester, we’re diving into a new series in EYC — Apologetics: How to Defend Your Faith.

Apologetics is all about learning how to thoughtfully explain 'why' we believe what we believe — and being willing to ask the hard questions along the way. Faith isn’t about being afraid of questions. In fact, asking questions, wrestling with doubts, and seeking understanding can help us grow deeper in our relationship with Jesus!

This series was born out of the questions that came up during our beach trip in May. We had some incredible conversations, some really honest questions, and a lot of curiosity about what it actually means to follow Jesus in a world that doesn’t always share our beliefs.

So, this semester, we’re going to keep asking those questions!

We’ll explore topics like faith and doubt, science and faith, suffering, the reliability of Scripture, and more — learning not just 'what' we believe, but WHY we believe it and how we can live confidently in our faith.

And we’re kicking it all off at our Fall Retreat at Lake Norman in September, where we’ll begin this series by exploring what it means to be 'Set Apart' as followers of Jesus.

We’re so excited to learn, question, grow, and wrestle with these things alongside you all this semester. We have a lot to talk about, and we can’t wait to get started.

It’s going to be a great semester at EYC!! You don't want to miss this! 👏

We’re so grateful for another year, for all of the people who make EYC happen, and most of all, for each of you who gives us the privilege of walking alongside you and serving you each week 🫶🏻

Here’s to another year of growing in faith, asking questions, having fun, showing up for one another, and figuring out what it means to follow Jesus together.

ONE MONTH UNTIL THE FALL RETREAT!

Our annual Fall Retreat is officially one month away, and we can’t wait to spend a weekend together at Lake Norman!

We’ll have swimming, games, plenty of time to rest and reconnect, and meaningful conversations about what it means to be “Set Apart” as followers of Jesus. We’ll also be diving into the meaning behind the "Jesus Fish" and what this simple symbol can teach us about living out our faith.

After a summer apart, this is the perfect weekend to reconnect with friends, reset, and start the new school year by making space to prioritize your faith.

Spots are limited, so don’t wait! Sign up now through the link below 🐟

Kick off the school year with one of our favorite weekends of the year! Join us September 11–13 as we head to a beautiful lakefront home on Lake Norman for our annual EYC Fall Retreat! Nestled right on the water, the house features spacious gathering areas, a private dock, plenty of room to spread out, incredible lake views, and the perfect setting for a weekend away with friends.

This year’s theme is ’Set Apart.’ Throughout the weekend, we’ll explore what it means to live as Christians who are called to be different, not by standing out for ourselves, but by reflecting the love, grace, and character of Jesus in our everyday lives. As a new school year begins, we’ll discover how God invites each of us to be set apart for His purpose!

The weekend will be a great mix of reconnecting after the summer, building friendships for those who may be new, worshiping together, meaningful discussions, fun games and activities, swimming, great food, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy Lake Norman. We’ll leave the church Friday afternoon, travel to the retreat in advisor-driven vehicles, and return Sunday afternoon around lunchtime!

Whether this is your first retreat or your tenth, we can’t wait to spend the weekend with you. We hope you’ll join us for an unforgettable start to the school year! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Happy August, EYC!

It's almost that time! As our fall programming kicks off in a couple of weeks, I thought I'd share a reminder for our two AUGUST events! We usually wait until further into September to begin meeting, but we're starting things early this year!

You can find applications, trip information, FAQs, and more at www.stje.org/mission

We can't wait to share more details in the coming months. Please keep this mission, our partners in Belize, and all those discerning whether to apply in your prayers! 💙🌴

Happy July! We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!

We wanted to invite you all to join us for a movie night on Sunday, July 26, as we head to Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen to see the movie ’Bad Counselors.’ There is no cost to attend, though you may want to bring money if you’d like to purchase popcorn + snacks! We will meet at the theater at 6:20 PM before the movie begins at 6:40 PM. In order to ensure we have enough tickets, please RSVP below! https://onrealm.org/STJE/PublicRegistrations/Event?linkString=ZmZkZTIzYjMtN2FlYS00ZWU3LTk1MzAtYjQ1ZjAxMDJiOTc1

What’s the movie about?!

The story follows two hard‑partying fraternity brothers who, after a wild night ends in handcuffs and a campus police es**rt, are slapped with 120 hours of community service or expulsion. Their plan? To pose as Christian camp counselors at a local youth camp, where every sing‑along, campfire devotional, and trust-fall counts toward their service hours.

They quickly realize they don’t like kids, hate camping, and have never set foot in a church. They must learn the lingo, fake the faith, hide a flask, and dodge suspicious pastors, prankster campers, and the “cutest co‑ed counselors” they’ve ever seen. The question is: can they lie their way to redemption — or will their house of half‑truths collapse before the closing bonfire?
