Summer doesn’t have to mean pressing pause on faith!!!

If you’ve been wanting to go deeper, ask questions, or better understand the Bible, we think this summer class could be really meaningful for you!

Every Sunday over summer at 9:15 AM, we’ll be exploring big questions through a casual discussion series called “Misquoting Jesus.” Together we’ll talk about scripture, history, translation, doubt, curiosity, and what it looks like to take both faith AND questions seriously!

Whether you’re feeling really grounded in faith or in a season of wanting to know more, this is a great opportunity to keep growing over the summer, even when EYC isn’t meeting regularly.

Yes, coming early is a commitment. But meaningful conversations + growing deeper in faith + biscuits for breakfast on us?! Worth it 😉

Every year on our beach retreat, we continue our tradition of visiting an Episcopal church wherever we are. This year we visited Grace Church Cathedral in downtown Charleston! We were blessed greatly by the service and even more so, the sermon. Sharing it here so you all can be blessed by it too. Begins around the 31 minute mark!

At Christmas we learned 'Emmanuel- God with us', At Easter we learned that 'God is for us', and now Pentecost we learn that 'God is IN us.' Rooted & Open, Tradition & Innovation, Roots & Branches!

At the conclusion of all the celebrations, we had one more person to celebrate BIG on our beach retreat — Mr. Riddle.

For so many years, Mr. Riddle has faithfully poured into the lives of countless teenagers, both within EYC and beyond. Through guidance, wisdom, encouragement, laughter, and of course, the biscuits, he has been a steady and meaningful presence in the lives of so many!!

We are deeply thankful for the ways he has reflected Christ through his care, consistency, and willingness to show up for generations of young people. “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). The seeds planted through his ministry have impacted more lives than can be counted.

While we will miss having him as a constant presence, we are grateful this is not goodbye and thankful we’ll still get to see him on Sunday mornings anytime. Thank you, Mr. Riddle, for the countless ways you have loved, led, and served. You are deeply appreciated and dearly loved 🧡

Closing out another incredible year of EYC the best way we know how....with our annual parking lot party!

Thank you to every student, advisor, and family who made this year so meaningful. From Sunday nights to retreats, service projects to silly games, we are so grateful for the community we’ve built together and for the ways we’ve seen God moving through this group all year long.

We hope you all have an amazing summer full of rest, joy, growth, and deeper relationship with God. We already can’t wait for all that next year will bring.

But first… let’s go to the beach! 🌊☀️🎉

What a special Youth Sunday! We celebrated our graduating seniors and recognized the many ways our youth faithfully serve throughout the life of our church 👏🏻We are grateful for the energy, leadership, kindness, and faith that you all bring to our community! Please join us in praying for and celebrating our seniors as they begin their next chapter! The celebration continues tonight at 6 for our annual end of the year parking lot party! See U there!

Throwback to one of the best days of the year, last year: YOUTH SUNDAY!

We would love for you to join us this Sunday during the 10:15 AM service as we celebrate our youth ministry at St. John's and those in our congregation who are graduating from high school! Our youth group members will do readings, participate during the service, and our very own Mr. Riddle is going to be giving the sermon on his reflection of serving EYC for the past 20 years! We will be honoring our senior acolytes Ben Phillips + Liam McClellan, hear a senior reflection from Tripp Graves (as well as a children's sermon led by him!) and thanking those who serve as youth advisors each week! It is going to be a special day celebrating our special group!! We will have two pews in the front reserved for students, advisors, and senior parents who would like a front row seat!

Game night on the lawn = laughter, chaos, and the best kind of community. From friendly competition to just hanging out, EYC showed up and made it a night to remember. Already counting down to the next one! We've got one meeting left- our parking lot party on May 17th to wrap up yet another amazing year!
