God doesn't usually reassure you before you say yes. You don't get the guarantee first. You don't get to see how it ends before you step off the edge of the world. All you get is the promise that God will be with you.

You have to take the step out on faith and only afterward look back to see how the path unfolded. That is terrifying. And it is also the only way to discover whether the fire inside you comes from God or from the world. How brave are you willing to be?

This award honors members of our church who demonstrate a deep love for First Presbyterian Church, selfless service, and joy. Rich has exemplified these qualities through over four decades of dedicated service both locally and in mission fields far away. He is known as a true, humble servant of our church—someone who has spent his life delivering hope, who serves quietly, without fanfare, for the good of the community broadly defined, and to the glory of our God in Jesus Christ.

What if the thing that brought you to church… became the thing that brought you to God?

Years ago, Kelly saw a flyer saying a church needed a singer. She answered it.

When she walked through the doors, she says she felt at home in a way she couldn’t describe.

But there was an even deeper story behind that moment.

“I always wanted to find God. I have journals where I wrote, ‘Dear God, if you’re real, please let me know.’”

For Kelly, the answer came through music.

This Sunday, she stood in worship and sang *Give Me Jesus.*

And knowing her story somehow makes this beautiful moment mean even more.

Maybe finding God doesn’t always begin with having the answers.

Maybe sometimes it begins with listening. ❤️

God's love does not work the way you think it should. It doesn't reward loyalty by punishing enemies. It doesn't narrow as your world narrows. Instead, it keeps moving outward in ever-widening circles, to the Samaritan woman, the Roman centurion, the city you thought God should destroy.

And if you're tired of living in fear that His grace might extend too far, too wide, too freely, to people you haven't decided deserve it, then maybe it's time to stop running from the truth of who God actually is.

You don't have to agree with someone to honor them. But you do have to listen. Put yourself in their shoes. See them the way Jesus did, as beloved and worth dying for. That's civility. That's the antidote to the Jonah spirit alive in all of us.
