❤️ Philoptochos is the heartbeat of the Greek Orthodox community. ❤️

On Sunday, February 8, we observe Philoptochos Go Red Sunday, joining the national effort to raise awareness for heart health - especially for women, as heart disease remains the leading cause of death for women.

Wearing red is a powerful symbol, but Philoptochos goes further. We turn awareness into action:
❤️ Preparing and sharing heart-healthy meals with our communities and local schools
❤️ Supporting families, seniors, and neighbors with care and compassion
❤️ Educating, advocating, and serving - this month and all year long

When women care for their hearts, they strengthen families, parishes, and entire communities. That’s the Philoptochos way - faith in action, love in service, and impact that lasts.

📸 We want to see your impact! 📸 Share how your chapter is honoring Philoptochos Go Red Sunday by emailing chapter updates and photos to [email protected]. Please include your chapter number, parish, city, and state.

Together, we are the heartbeat - strong, faithful, and compassionate. ❤️

At the 2025 Children’s Medical Fund Luncheon on September 27, Philoptochos once again demonstrated the profound impact of faith in action. Through our grants, including a $30,000 gift to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center Foundation in Charlotte, NC, we are supporting bereaved families at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital—providing essential resources to guide terminally ill children and their families through the most difficult moments of illness, loss, and grief. Together, we are transforming compassion into meaningful, life-changing support. 🙏💜

On the 14th of September, the Greek Orthodox Church commemorates the Feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Precious and Life-Giving Cross, which is a blessed day and a celebration of the tremendous power of the Cross of our Lord.

Through the Cross, the power and wisdom of God have been revealed. By the Cross, we are reconciled to Christ, and we can find true and enduring peace. It is the Cross that directs us to Christ and to the way of salvation and eternal life.
