It was a great day at St. Giles...
St. Giles Presbyterian Church
Be it resolved on this 31st day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-six, that the Session of St. Giles Presbyterian Church proclaims that
Glass Bowling “Bud” Carrier Jr.
for 51 years of unselfish, Christ-like, and meritorious service to the people of St. Giles and the surrounding community, be promoted to the high office of “Elder Emeritus.”
And, be it further resolved, that as we rightly celebrate Bud, we also herald the Christ-honoring praise and honor of Bud’s faithful and loving wife, Kay Olsen Carrier. Her steadfast spirit, heartfelt prayers, and godly example of Christian womanhood have greatly encouraged all of our lives. Indeed, behind every effective and faithful elder is a Proverbs 31 woman.
Serving together, as husband and wife, raising their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and serving St. Giles in ways too numerous to list, we, the elders and people of St. Giles, do hereby thank God for the gift of Bud and Kay. May each of us aspire to their lifelong example of faithful church membership and devotion to Jesus Christ, our blessed Savior and Lord.
Therefore, Bud and Kay, on this day, following the pattern of Psalm 20, verse 5, “shout for joy over your many victories and lift up our banners in the name of our God” as we celebrate your lives and pray God’s richest blessings upon both of you and house of Carrier. This we do in the Most Holy Name of our Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen and amen.
