Dear Family and Friends,
There is a young christian boy in India named Karteek that is in great need right now. He stays at an orphanage we have helped many times over the past 14 years, called Our Fathers Home.
I have traveled there myself several times and spent weeks at a time with the host family. On one of my trips to India I brought my wife and daughter as well.
This is an emergency appeal to help this young boy who has has just suffered a life threatening infection.
Now he faces a different battle — an overwhelming hospital bill. Karteek had to spend 28 days in the hospital. They do not have insurance like we are fortunate enough to have here in the USA. In india there is no middle class, you only have the rich and the extreemly poor. Over the past 14 years we have helped with many things, such as blankets, mattresses, coats, clothes, and food as well as helped with some building materials for the orphanage.
If you can only know how much the couple who operate this orphage has sacrificed to help any where from 25 to 46 children at a time. If you can only imagine how feeding over 40 mouths on a daily basis is a great expense in itself. This orphanage has no religious funding or governmental assistance of any kind. In fact the government does not support any kind of Christian organizations in India at all. The major religion is Hindu and christians are persecuted and have been killed by the exremist groups of both the Hindu and Muslim Religions.
Karteek is a normal young boy that loves sports, especially soccer, and he works hard in school to learn.
Not long ago, Karteek got a small cut that didnt seem that bad at first. It was just a small wound but it developed into a severe staph infection. The illness spread quickly and threatened both his arm and his life. The orphanage leaders prayed and chose to admit him to the local hospital. Doctors treated him for over three weeks and finally performed surgery on the infected area. Their quick action saved his life.
By God’s grace, Karteek recovered and has now returned to Our Father’s Home orphanage. In many parts of India, hospitals will keep patients until their bills have been paid, making their hospital stay now some what of a jail sentence. Fortunately Karteek received permission to leave and is now with the other children and caregivers who supported him through prayer. A deep scar will remain on his arm, but it also tells a story of healing and faith. The hospital bill is still a heavy debt that must be paid. I’m pleading for your help financially.
As I said before, I personally know the family that runs this Orphanage. They are good godly people that love Jesus and want to raise these children in a godly manner. Please consider donating to help with medical expenses or maybe you would also consider helping with food, clothing or school supplies. The need is great and your help can make a difference.
