Welcome new members, Fred and Lisa!

Fred is from Weaverville, North Carolina, just outside of Asheville, and grew up in the Presbyterian church. In high school, he received Christ after listening to an evangelical radio broadcast. He attended Mars Hill University and recently retired from the field of finance. He now mountain bikes, but does not get paid for it!

Lisa was born in the Bronx, NY, and grew up in New Jersey. She was raised in the Roman Catholic church, and came to faith in Christ later in life, after moving to North Carolina. She received her MBA from UNC Greensboro and is a corporate events manager.

Fred and Lisa have enjoyed the warm welcome and friendliness they have experienced at BPC and look forward to serving Jesus with their church family.

A warm BPC welcome to our newest members: Paul and Joann!

Paul grew up in a Christian home, as the son of a minister, and came to faith later in life. He had a career as a professional musician, earned his IT degree, and worked at FedEx.

Joann grew up in a Christian home and came to know Jesus at an early age. She earned a degree in education, with a focus on French. She enjoyed homeschooling their six children. Paul and Joann are blessed with 13 grandchildren.

Recently, the men of BPC gathered for their annual retreat at Bonclarken!

This year’s teaching, from Pastor James McManus of Bethel ARP in Winnsboro, SC, centered around Psalm 23. The sessions went through the Psalm verse by verse, dissecting its meaning and application.

The time was also spent singing hymns, enjoying excellent food and fellowship, and an evening campfire one night.

Thank you to everyone who came!

A warm BPC welcome to our newest communicant members, who recently completed our communicants’ class and professed their faith in Jesus!

Jack is a junior at Walnut Grove Christian School and a talented basketball player for their varsity basketball team. In his free time he enjoys playing recreational basketball, playing fantasy football, or working at his local Harris Teeter. He is glad to be a part of the BPC body.

Lia is a freshman at Indian Land High School and is a member of the basketball team. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, going to the YMCA to play basketball, or taking a nap. She is glad to be a part of the BPC body.
Gettys was the first baby that Dr. Nance baptized after coming to BPC ten years ago. He is homseschooled and will be going into the 5th grade this fall. He plays the violin and the piano (his piano teacher was one of Dr. Nance’s roommates at Furman!). Gettys also loves baseball and swimming on the summer swim team at Windyrush. He is looking forward to being the ring-bearer at his sister’s wedding this fall.

Matthew will be entering Greyfriars Classical Academy as a freshman this fall. He also enjoys playing the piano and has just recently joined the evening service piano rotation at BPC. Matthew also enjoys singing and has been a faithful member of the BPC choir for the past two years. His parents are so grateful for his kind and gentle spirit, and he is known as a peacemaker among his peers. He is also looking forward to serving as a groomsman in his sister’s wedding.

A warm welcome to our newest members, Jonathan and Allison C.!

Jonathan grew up in Albemarle, NC, attending Westminster ARP Church, where his grandfather is the pastor. He does not remember a time when he did not know Jesus as his Savior. He is a graduate of Erskine College, where he majored in accounting and minored in business and political science. He is in financial planning with Blue Trust. He loves to play all sports and the piano, and he is thankful for the Christian fellowship that he has experienced from the first day he visited BPC.

Allison grew up in Anderson SC, attending a Methodist Church. She came to know Christ in elementary school at a Methodist Church Camp. She also is a graduate of Erskine College, where she met Jonathan. She majored in physical education and coaching, with minors in education and business. She played college beach volleyball at Erskine. Allison teaches PE to middle school students at Mountain Island lake Academy. She loves the welcome she and Jonathan have received at BPC, and she looks forward to serving the church!
