Today, Clean Monday (Greek: 'Καθαρά Δευτέρα'), marks the start of Great Lent for our Orthodox brothers and sisters. We now begin the holy period of prayer, service, and fasting. We wish everyone a blessed Great Lent!

Every year Philoptochos recognizes the women affected by widespread heart disease, which is caused by a number of factors. Sunday, February 5th, we'll observe our annual Go Red Sunday! We encourage everyone to wear red in support of the American Heart Association's signature initiative "Go Red For Women" during American Heart Month.

National Wear Red Day is Friday February 3rd, so grab that extra sweater and sport red all weekend in support of this worthy cause!

It's been nearly a year since Russian forces invaded Ukraine, devastating the lives of millions. Today, January 22nd is Ukraine’s Day of Unity.

Philoptochos has shown support for Ukraine throughout the last year, standing with the victims of the war and contributing to the shelter and care of many of those victims. Through our Ukrainian Relief Fund, we have supported the efforts of both UNICEF and the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) who have been on the ground in Ukraine and its bordering countries providing food, refugee services, counseling, and more.
