We love to call it “ambition,” “responsibility,” or “being prepared.” But if we’re honest? A lot of our backup plans are built on fear.

Sadly, life experience with others taught us that vulnerability is dangerous.

But when Jesus taught us to pray, he didn’t give us a five year strategy. He said, “Give us this day our daily bread.”

You were never an orphan hustling for every crumb. You have a Father, not a landlord. And he has never once used your need against you.

We often hear 'forgive and forget,' but what does that truly mean? It's not about erasing the memory, but about choosing not to hold onto the hurt. God's forgiveness means our sins are not counted against us.

Forgiveness isn't easy silence. It's painful, absorbing another's debt. You acknowledge the wound but choose not to let it define you. You refuse to let it own you.

The first word Jesus teaches us to pray dismantles the whole 'me and God' religion

The very first word Jesus gives us to pray is not "I." It's "Our."

That one word seats you at a table you didn't set, next to people from every tribe and tongue who call the same God Father.

Old or young. African, American, Asian. And if you've ever felt far off, a guest who never quite became family, hear this: the blood of Christ brought you near and made you a member of the household. Not a visitor.

The Father you're praying to is near enough to care about your morning and high enough to move mountains on it. Intimate, but never small.

Which is why the first thing we ask isn't for our name to be known. It's his. Hallowed be your name. A daily, freeing demotion of self so the world can finally see him for who he really is.

True repentance isn't a one-time event, but a continuous turning away from sin. The ability to approach God after a mistake isn't an excuse for carelessness, but a grace for the sincere. A true believer confronts sin, not becomes comfortable with it.
