Niner United is an ecumenical campus ministry at UNC Charlotte with a large and vibrant student outreach. We represent the Episcopal, Lutheran (ELCA), Presbyterian (PCUSA), and United Methodist denominations. There are still incredible worship opportunities, a free lunch every week, many small groups for students to join, and incredible mission trips and spiritual formation opportunities. But we can't emphasize enough how important it is for us to be a voice of hope for struggling students.

This December, we ask for support of our Your Heart, Their Hope campaign to raise $10,000 for connecting UNC Charlotte students to Niner United, the university's voice of hope.

A campus ministry at UNC Charlotte may offer timely lessons for the Church on engaging a diverse population of young people in ways that reflect God's vision for the world.

Today's spotlight story takes us to the student union, where Niner United employs an inclusive approach (and free pizza) to share the love of Christ. Without a building of its own, the ministry embraces the challenge of meeting people where they are.

"The entire campus is our parish -- all 30,000 students," says Stephen Cheyney, a faculty member and university pastor who helps lead the ministry. "They're not coming to us. We're going to them."
