“A Calling to a Shoeless Ministry 👞➡️🙏🏾”

Today at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church, we celebrated 10 years of pastoral leadership and service from Rev. Dr. Thomas R. Farrow, Jr. with a powerful anniversary message from our special guest, Rev. Dr. Ezra Tillman.

Preaching from Exodus 3:1–5, Rev. Dr. Tillman reminded us through the theme “A Calling to a Shoeless Ministry” that when Moses encountered God at the burning bush, he was told to remove his sandals because the ground beneath him was holy.

“Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” – Exodus 3:5

Ministry is more than a position or title—it is a sacred calling that requires humility, reverence, obedience, and a willingness to stand before God with nothing separating us from the assignment He has given.

As we celebrate Pastor Farrow’s 10th Pastoral Anniversary, we thank God for a decade of faithful leadership, service, sacrifice, and commitment to the Reeder Memorial family. May God continue to strengthen him for the journey and the calling ahead. 🙏🏾🙌🏾

What a wonderful time we had yesterday evening as we continued celebrating the 10th Pastoral Anniversary of Rev. Dr. Thomas R. Farrow, Jr.! 🙌🏾🎉

We were truly blessed by the powerful message from Rev. Dr. Clifford A. Jones, Sr. and the incredible ministry of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church choir. The worship, the Word, the fellowship, and the spirit in the room made it an evening to remember!

We thank God for 10 years of Pastor Farrow’s leadership, service, faithfulness, and dedication to Reeder Memorial Baptist Church. And the celebration isn’t over yet—we’re just getting started!

“When God Refuses To Take No For An Answer 🙏🏾”

Today at Reeder Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Thomas Farrow, Jr. preached from Jonah 1 (NRSVUE), reminding us that when God has placed a calling on our lives, our resistance does not cancel His purpose.

Jonah heard God’s instructions clearly, but instead of going toward Nineveh, he ran in the opposite direction. Yet even in Jonah’s disobedience, God continued to pursue him.

Sometimes we say “no” because the assignment is uncomfortable. Sometimes we run because God’s direction doesn’t match our plans. But when God has purpose attached to your life, He knows how to get your attention and redirect your steps.

The storm wasn’t the end of Jonah’s story—it became part of the process that brought him back toward God’s will.

You can run from the assignment, but you can’t outrun the God who called you. When God refuses to take no for an answer, it may be because He sees purpose in you that you haven’t fully seen in yourself yet. 🙌🏾
