Wed., Sept 9 - Fear Is Wisdom
Job 28:28 And he said to humankind, 'Truly, the fear of the Lord, this is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.'
Fearing the LORD is wisdom. Wisdom is not a side effect, or a bonus, they are one and the same. When we fear God, we become wise; not easily confused or mislead. Fear is wisdom.

Tue., Sept 8 - Fearing Is a Blessing
Ps 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.
There are many choices and influences in the world. We are incapable of knowing the outcome of every decision. But, when we align our lives with God's wisdom, we find that we are protected by avoiding pitfalls and reaping blessings that we never attended.

Monday, Sept. 7 - Control Issues
Isa 66:2 - All these things my hand has made, so all these things are mine, says the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look, to the humble and contrite in spirit.
God made everything. He is Almighty. Fearing God means we have to give up control, but we are giving up that control to the one who is almighty. It is better that He be in control, than we pretend we have everything under control.

Fri., Sept 4 – Jesus (God) follower: This one is great. Start with one of the Gospels, Mark or Luke are good places. Read through and see what Jesus is doing. What is important to Him? Pay attention to the questions He asks (he asks way more than He answers). What is Jesus trying to do? What does that mean for me today?

Carry it into the weekend: God follower – you can do this with the whole of the Bible. In every passage God is doing something. What is God doing? Why?

Holy Spirit follower – Read Acts and see what the Holy Spirit is doing. This can be tricky because sometimes the Holy Spirit is not so overt as to, for example, send a flood. But God is always acting, in the Bible and in our lives.
