Friday, June 12 - Daily Devotion

What I appreciate about the parable in Matthew 7 about the house build on sand or rock is that Jesus reminds us that the floods WILL rise and the wind WILL blow and the rain WILL fall. It is not a matter of it, it is a matter of when. The difference is the foundation. Jesus said, "Everyone, then, who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock." Remember, it is a matter of WHEN.

June 11, 2026 - Daily Devotion

Isaiah 26 reminds us: Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock. Let that be the verse that comes from your lips each morning. Let that be a bumper sticker for the world to see. Let that be your guiding light when doubt sneaks in and the demons wake you up at night. Cast away all anxiety knowing that in God, you have an everlasting rock.

June 10, 2026 - Daily Devotion

It is easy to praise God when the sun is shining and the kids are doing great, but the true test of a solid foundation is when the storms roll in and life is turned upside down. Can we praise God in the storm? Psalm 18 reminds us: The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised.

Tuesday, June 9 - Daily Devotion

Again we turn to the Psalms today, (16), as a source of this unmovable foundation that no matter how much the world shakes and shudders around us, the Psalmist writes: I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; I will not be shaken, I will not be rattled, I will not be undone for the hallowed ground I stand upon is a rock of faith."

Happy Monday! For those who worship online, we thought it might be nice to share the Daily Devotions the pastors have been including on Sunday mornings during worship! Maybe it'll even spark some conversation here in this online community! Feel free to share any comments here!

Monday, June 8:
This week, we celebrate our high school graduates; we focus on our faith as the solid foundation from which we draw our strength, hope, and direction.

One of Luther's favorite Psalms was 46, from which he got the inspiration for his most famous hymn, "A Mighty Fortress." God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear. It is from this assurance that Luther found peace in the midst of the turmoil of the Reformation as this Psalm ends with ... Be still and know that I am God.
