Weather Update: Room In The Inn

Due to the current weather forecast, and out of an abundance of caution for everyone involved, we will not be hosting Room In The Inn this weekend in our Hospitality Suite.

We have worked closely with Roof Above, and the families who were scheduled to stay at Myers Park will be provided hotel housing from Saturday through Tuesday or Thursday, depending on how the storm unfolds. We believe this arrangement serves our neighbors best, allowing families to remain in one place, stay warm, and have space as we continue to monitor the weather together.

Your generosity to the Mission & Outreach Fund allows us to cover these costs and provide food for families once they are settled. If you would like to give to the Mission & Outreach Fund, the link can be found in our bio or on the church website. Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors in times of uncertainty.

What a joy it was to share a Thanksgiving meal with our neighbors at South Tryon UMC.
Volunteers helped prepare food, even frying turkeys outside as friends gathered for the meal!

Pastor Darryl reminded us to be thankful in all circumstances, even when we may not be thankful for the circumstance. A needed word!

Each week, volunteers serve lunch at Trinity’s Table, a ministry of South Tryon Community UMC, where neighbors gather for food and fellowship. This week, we were grateful to deliver a $5,000 check to Rev Dayson to support their November feeding assistance, providing grocery gift cards to families impacted by the SNAP benefit pause.

We’re thankful for this partnership and the chance to be part of God’s work in Brookhill and beyond.
