We want to invite you into something that is so significant. Jesus stood up on the greatest day of the festival and made an invitation so simple it’s almost easy to miss: if you’re thirsty, come and drink. He wasn’t offering a sip to get us by — He promised rivers of living water that would flow from the inside out, the very Spirit He would send to be with us and in us. We have this gift from God Himself, the Spirit of Truth, still moving today, and we believe He wants to meet you right where you are.

This weekend we have Trevor Hartley with us, and we’re genuinely expectant about what God is going to do — but here’s the thing: what we receive has less to do with the speaker and everything to do with how we come. So let us come thirsty. Come with your hands open and your heart ready, not to perform or impress, but simply to receive what only He can give. You don’t need to have it all together, and you don’t need the right words — you just need to show up hungry for more of Him. Whether you’re running on empty or overflowing, whether this is familiar ground or brand new, there’s a place for you here.

Bring a friend, bring your questions, bring the thirst you’ve been trying to satisfy with everything else. We truly can’t wait to worship alongside you and watch the river flow. Come and drink.

This week, we welcome David Nelms to CityChurch, and with him comes a story that will stretch your vision of what God is doing in the world. David is the founder of The Timothy Initiative—TTI—a ministry devoted to planting churches among the unreached peoples of the earth.

It began with a simple, heartbreaking question. Standing in a land full of temples and mosques, David asked, "Where are the churches?"—and the answer came back, "There are none." Out of that broken moment, God birthed a movement. Today TTI works across dozens of nations, training everyday believers to make disciples who make disciples, exactly the pattern Paul gave Timothy: entrust what you've heard to faithful people who will teach others also.

From one heartbroken prayer, God has raised up churches among peoples who had never once heard the name of Jesus. This is the BIGNESS of God on display. He is not a small God with small plans, confined to what we can see on a Sunday morning. He is at work in villages we will never visit, among languages we will never speak, building his church to the ends of the earth.

The Lord will use David to lift our eyes, to stir our faith, and to remind us that the God we worship is far bigger than our circumstances. Come ready to dream again and to see just how big our God really is.
