DAILY PRAYER (BY SPURGEON)
We have also to bring before you a burden and that is the godlessness of this present age. It is not alone the wise men but, behold, the men that know not seek not after God. Oh Lord, the multitude delight in sin. Drunkenness defiles our city, and filthy words are heard on every side. Do not be angry with this nation, we beg you. It has been entrusted with wondrous privileges. Forgive it and have mercy upon its aggravated sin. Lay not its heavy responsibilities to its charge, but let this nation be saved. We pray for it, as we are in duty bound to do, and as our love constrains us to do. Oh, let the masses of the people yet come to seek after Christ. By some means, by all means, by every means, may the ears of men be reached, and then their hearts be touched.

Amen.

It is indeed a matter of great concern that there is ongoing violence and senseless killings among the Haitian people. Such destructive behavior not only hampers the progress and development of the nation but also inflicts irreparable harm on the social fabric of society. The escalation of violence only leads to a vicious cycle of retribution and suffering, with innocent lives being lost and families torn apart.
It is imperative for all individuals involved to recognize the futility and devastation caused by such actions. Dropping weapons and embracing dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution mechanisms is the only way forward towards building a harmonious and prosperous society. By engaging in constructive discourse and addressing grievances through peaceful means, the Haitian people can work towards healing the wounds of the past and forging a path towards a brighter future for themselves and future generations.
Let us come together as a united community, setting aside differences and working towards a shared goal of peace, stability, and progress. The power to transform the nation lies within the hands of its people, and it is through unity and resilience that Haiti can overcome its challenges and build a better tomorrow.

Ephesians 5:10-16 “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Today is a wakeup call to all Christians everywhere.

Romans 7:19-25

19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.
21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;
23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?
25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Good morning, we humbly offer our prayers to you, dear God, on this day of October 10, 2024. Our thoughts are with those in Florida who have been adversely affected by the recent storm. Though initially classified as a category 5, it has since been downgraded to a category 3. We beseech you, Lord, to diminish its strength further until it ceases to exist. Grant strength to those who have already suffered loss, helping them to rebuild their lives. Let us also remember our brethren in South Carolina, still recovering from last week's storm. May your divine assistance be with them. All these pleas we offer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

THE PRICE OF BEING A PASTOR

Being a Pastor is listed among the four most difficult professions in the United States
because a Pastor must be:
•Preacher
•Example
•Father
•Husband
•Counselor
•Conference caller
•Planner
•Minister
•Visionary
•Director
•Mentor
•Friend
•Reconciliator
•Marriage counselor
•Youth Counselor
•Leader's trainer
•Bible teacher
•Intercessor etc etc
Besides being:
•Keeper of the temple
•Cleaning staff

Every Pastor constantly confronts many different things, such as:

The Pastor doesn't visit me
Sermon was too long.
The music was too loud.
The building is too cold.
Etc....

One of the most difficult things in the life of a Pastor is to know that at some point the people they love will abandon or even betray them.

The Pastor is often the loneliest person in the congregation.

You may see a Pastor be surrounded by people, but very rarely people who are interested in their problems, needs or even in their lives.

If you have a Pastor as a friend take care of them, pray for them, connect with vision that God gave them, support them, but above all love them. Remember they are human and in the same way they go through the same needs as you.

Even if you don’t believe it, many of them have sacrificed comforts, rest, personal plans and so many things including some of their own family’s needs to attend God’s call.

Value the time a Pastor puts into work, the prayers he makes for everyone, the burden he voluntarily carries for ministry. You don't know how much he'd appreciate knowing you do.

Jeremiah 3:15
And I will give you shepherds according to my own heart, who shall lead them with knowledge and understanding.
.. For all pastors 🙏
Thank you for all that you do!

It is essential to surround oneself with positive influences, such as good friends and supportive family members, in order to achieve shared goals and maintain a healthy environment. By aligning with individuals who share similar visions and values, one can benefit from enhanced collaboration and support. On the contrary, it is crucial to identify and distance oneself from toxic relationships, whether they be friends, siblings, or other family members who undermine your aspirations or belittle your worth. If someone demonstrates an attitude of superiority or lacks the willingness to work alongside you towards a common goal, it may be necessary to let go of such detrimental connections.
Rather than investing time and energy in unsupportive relationships, it is advisable to prioritize those who genuinely care, value your contributions, and are eager to collaborate with you. Building a network of individuals who uplift and inspire you can foster success and personal growth, leading to a more fulfilling journey towards achieving your aspirations.

Haitian people in Springfield, Ohio, are facing persecution and racism due to baseless claims that they're stealing and eating pets. These rumors started spreading on social media and were amplified by prominent figures, including Donald Trump and JD Vance ¹. The claims have been thoroughly debunked by law enforcement and fact-checking organizations, but not before they sparked violence and threats against the Haitian community.

*Rising Tensions and Violence*

The situation has escalated to the point where Haitian residents are experiencing verbal abuse, vandalism, and even physical attacks. Windows have been broken, and acid has been thrown at their cars ¹. The local NAACP leader has received racist emails, and bomb threats have forced the closure of schools, city hall, and other public buildings ¹.

*Debunked Claims*

Despite the lack of evidence, the false narrative has been perpetuated by some politicians and right-wing influencers. The original Facebook post that sparked the rumors has been admitted to be unfounded, and law enforcement has confirmed that there's no credible evidence to support the claims ¹.

*Community Response*

The community is fighting back against these racist rumors. President Joe Biden has denounced the false narrative, and local leaders are working to promote unity and understanding ¹. It's essential to recognize the harm caused by spreading misinformation and to stand against racism and xenophobia.

Remember, it's crucial to verify information before sharing, especially when it concerns vulnerable communities. Let's strive to create a more inclusive and compassionate environment for everyone.
