Please note that due to the several inches of snow so far, we have cancelled classes for today, Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

For 1st-5th grade, we that you please review the two missed lessons from last week and this week at home with your children.

6-8th grade Theology of the Body should read the missed lessons and attempt the homework.

I hope everyone enjoys this rare snow this weekend!

Attention (again) Parishioners of St. Vincent de Paul (Charlotte).

Once again we are facing a PERILOUS winter storm! This storm is forecasted to be snow event ("dry, fluffy snow" is what I keep hearing) so it should not be quite as perilous as the ice storm of last weekend. However, this is the South, so the conditions of the roads on Saturday, Sunday, and even Monday will be iffy at best. I, therefore, remind you that Prudence is one of the Cardinal Virtues and I encourage you to exercise a great deal of it regarding attendance at Mass on Sunday. All Saturday evening and Sunday Masses will be offered in the Church as scheduled (as well as Saturday confessions), but if you are not used to driving in winter weather, if the roads in your area are not really cleared, if you don't have a 4 wheel drive car, or if you are uncomfortable driving in these conditions, please stay home. A dispensation from the Sunday obligation has been given for this weekend so, if you cannot attend, you do not sin.
Please stay safe and know, even if you are not able to be here with us, Masses will be being offered for all of you and your safety.

Remember, our Faith Formation Program uses CMS to determine if our classes are cancelled. Since CMS did not have in person classes today, classes for this evening are cancelled (including OCIA).

In accord with our inclement weather policy, we have cancelled Faith Formation classes for this evening (Tuesday).

Our inclement weather policy states that if CMS is closed or remote learning due to weather risks, we will not have class.

Please review your child's lessons with them this evening and complete the assigned workbook pages.

As of now, OCIA and OCIC on Wednesday evening are NOT cancelled and we believe they will proceed as scheduled.

ATTENTION ST. VINCENT DE PAUL (CHARLOTTE) PARISHONERS!!!

It is forecasted that Charlotte will experience, from Saturday evening through Monday morning, a "significant ice storm". If you have never experienced an ice storm before, please be aware that an ice storm is VERY different from a snow storm. Snow can certainly cause problems with travel, but it is relatively easy to deal with. An ice storm has the potential to cause widespread power outages and make travel on roads nearly impossible. I cannot stress this enough, if you know how to drive well on snow IT IS NOT THE SAME THING AS TRYING TO DRIVE ON ICE!!!

I encourage all of you, for your own safety as well as for the safety of those who might have to come rescue you when your car slides into a ditch, to plan on staying home this weekend.

Because of all of this, Bishop Martin has wisely dispensed all Catholics in the Diocese of Charlotte from their obligation this Sunday (the evening of the 24th and the 25th of January). Once again, I encourage all of you to take advantage of this dispensation, and to stay home this weekend and take this Sunday as a proper day of rest and reflection.

Sunday Faith Formation: Cancelled

Masses will be offered, but I implore you (because I didn't want to say "encourage" again) to stay home and DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE. Fr. Alex and I can walk to the Church, so it isn't as dangerous for us, so know that we will be praying for all of you.

Pray for those impacted by the storm, pray for first responders, and pray that our city may get back on its feet as quickly as possible.
