CHRISTIANS “DISAPPEAR” AFTER POLICE RAID IN CHINA

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Pastor David Tang and six other Christians were reportedly detained by police in Shanghai on Aug. 5, and according to ChinaAid, their families still have not been told where they are being held or why.

Tang founded Purpose Driven Church in Wenzhou, a city often called the “Jerusalem of China” because of its large Christian population.

His church refused to join China’s state-controlled Three-Self Patriotic Movement and was eventually forced to close, but believers continued meeting outside the government-approved church system.

ChinaAid President Bob Fu says the detentions are part of a broader crackdown on independent Christianity in China.

“The international community must not remain silent while peaceful Christians are criminalized simply for practicing their faith,” Fu said.

Huge credit to ChinaAid for continuing to document these cases and speak up for persecuted Christians when the Chinese government would rather the world look away.

As of the latest report, Pastor Tang and the other six Christians remain out of contact.

Imagine gathering to worship Jesus and knowing it could cost you your freedom.
