Second Tabernacle Beth El, the Crown, definitely left the building for our 4th annual Global Day of Service! We had the opportunity to bring some love and happiness to Peake Resources residents and staff. Peake is a Rehabilitation/Nursing home in our community that had previously assisted some of our dear friends and members. Our members and choir were under the direction of St Andre Marshall. He was right on time with all the sweet songs of Zion! After introductions, we were led in a powerful prayer by SE Olivv Olivv P. IchooseLife Reddick. Our Saints followed up with addional songs, and we offered words of encouragement from St Anna Thomas! A few more beautiful songs had some resident clapping their hands and shouting and trying to stand up out of those wheelchairs! Our Evangelist Seth Johnson, provided so many reasons for everyone to be thankful! He brought hope and love to them. He let them know what the love of GOD can do for all of us! During our time there, we showered the residents and staff with an assortment of desserts and refreshments! We also delivered activity items for them to use. No pictures were allowed inside with them, but we could see that we accomplished our goal on this day!

We had not one, but two Sabbath services today. We had our Sabbath school, and then immediately went into our worship service with the reading of the Siddur by Elder George Hamilton, with Bro Andre Marshall as our Cantor! As usual our first service was definitely touching hearts and souls with Evangelist Seth Johnson letting us know "it's in the black" (speaking of the Bible of course) You had to be here!!! Then we partnered with our neighbors, A Giving Heart Project, and brought the community to us! We showed up and out by assisting with the set-up and the take down of tents, chairs, and a play area. We assisted with setting up the clothing, shoes and toiletries give away. We assisted with food prep, and our brother, St. Ed Harris, did "ride along pick-ups" of some of our neighbors without homes, with another volunteer. They went to the Men's shelter, the Women's shelter, and a few other places to pick up our neighbors in need of some assistance and love, on this
extremely hot Sabbath Day!! We are about our Father's business. We are not confined within the the 4 walls! We "busted out" today!! Our crown is on straight!👑

The time has arrived for our annual candle light service. This year we will have a Candlelight Memorial Reception Saturday evening, March 1st from 6pm-8pm. We are asking that each person submitting names prepare a short presentation (2-3 minutes )to speak about a person or persons they are honoring.

There will be a semi-formal (yes semi-formal) reception afterwards with hors devours and mocktails. We are asking everyone to come out and honor your loved ones during this season of Black History.

The cost of each adult is $10 and children over 5 is $5.
And each name submitted is $2.

Again, we encourage everyone to choose a person or persons to highlight and honor. This is not only black history, this is our history.

SE Janelle Atkins will be preparing our Powerpoint presentation and collecting names until February 26th.

Money can be submitted via the Charlotte tabernacle Zelle Account, or by check or money order payable to the DOJASOM.

Please join us in celebrating those who have gone on before us.

We surprised seven children at our Tabernacle with 8 gifts each in celebration of Hanukkah, as well as a fun trip to Frankie's Amusement Center. They ate pizza, chicken tenders, fries, and of course Icee's. Also a nice Italian cream cake for the parents and grands that kept it a secret!! The ages of the invitees ranged from 3 to 15 years of age. Showering our youth with lots of love in the Crown City ❤️
