A new Anglican (ACNA) church in the heart of Charlotte, NC

How can we live as people of hope in the midst of unmet longings, unanswered prayers, and seemingly unresolvable pain? How does the meal at the center of our worship teach us that a life yielded to God is a glorious life, even when it doesn’t look the way we expect?

Join us Friday evening-Saturday morning, October 9-10, for our Fall Discipleship Weekend with the Rev. Hannah King. Hannah, an Anglican priest, will help us explore the Eucharist—the feast at the center of our Christian faith—and the gospel hope it offers for our lives, our community, and our world.

As announced at the annual parish meeting, we are excited to welcome Mark Landon as Assisting Clergy at Church of the Apostles!

Mark is from Northern Virginia with strong family ties to the eastern shore of Maryland. He grew up playing soccer and basketball and now enjoys hiking and mountain biking. Mark has always enjoyed people and sharing stories together. He has a keen sense of humor and an active archive of the worst dad jokes (just ask him).

Mark spent significant time in Mexico during High School and moved to Miami after college. Mark’s time in Mexico and in Miami fostered an abiding love for all kinds of people from all kinds of places.

Mark and his wife Jessica have been married for 32 years and have two daughters adopted from Ghana: Helen, 23, and Mary, 19. The Landons live in East CLT with their sweet pup, Lexi.

Mark has been a Young Life area director, a youth pastor, and was ordained an Anglican priest in 2010. He planted and pastored St. Patrick’s Anglican Mission in Charlotte from 2011-2016. Mark now works at Project 658 as the Director of Advocacy and Care and interim Director of Hope Community Clinic.

Mark resonates deeply with COTA’s vision, especially the call to the common good in the city of Charlotte.

The final milestone in our journey from church plant to established congregation is for our church planting pastor (or Vicar) to be instituted as our long-term pastor (or Rector).

Join us this Sunday, September 13th, at 4 PM, for a service of worship to celebrate our third birthday as a public church, and The Institution of The Rev. Matt Grimsley as Rector of Apostles by The Rt. Rev. Terrell Glenn, Assisting Bishop over North Carolina for The Anglican Diocese of the Carolinas.

An onsite feast catered by our friends at Apostle ‘Que will follow worship.

Join us in offering a warm welcome to A.C. Lee as Director of Music at Apostles Charlotte!

A.C. was raised in Charlotte, but has spent the majority of her twenties in Nashville, Tennessee, and Johannesburg, South Africa, only to return to Charlotte in April of 2026! As a girl, she fell in love with playing piano and guitar, and eventually leading the people of God in worship. She has spent the last decade serving in ministry, in both church and nonprofit contexts. She has a deep desire to see people know God and live in the freedom Jesus made possible!

Currently, A.C. is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Seminary and, with the time she has left, loves reading books in the Ann Patchett camp of writing, getting outside with friends, and exploring new cultures (crazy food included)! She also currently works as the Program Support Manager for Project 658.

Each August, we take a couple of weeks to preach through our vision as a church. This year, we are doing a deep dive into the greatest commandment and why it was Jesus's answer for what he wants most of his people.

We invite you to join us for it, whether you're new to our church or have been around a while!

Last chance this summer! Join us in Independence Park following worship this Sunday where we will enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship for all ages.

Pack a picnic or pick up food, and bring a blanket or lawn chairs, along with any lawn games you enjoy! The church will provide drinks.
