Heat Safety Week
As temperatures rise, staying hydrated is one of the best ways to help prevent heat-related illness. Drink water regularly, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning, wear lightweight clothing, and avoid prolonged time outdoors during extreme heat. Electrolyte drinks like HOIST can also help replenish fluids lost through sweat during outdoor work, exercise, travel, or other summer activities.

Remember to check on neighbors, older adults, and others who may be vulnerable during extreme heat, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

Join us for our annual Celebration! We'll come together to INVEST in our important work, CELEBRATE our wins, and HAVE FUN! People in positions of power use tactics (we call them the 7 D’s) to DELAY, DENY, DISTRACT, DEFLECT, DECEIVE, DIVIDE, and DISCREDIT.... but it didn’t work in the 1970s civil rights era, and we won’t let it work now! Come out in your best 70’s attire, and celebrate the wins we’ve achieved through our organized people power. We're gonna have some fun, and strengthen our resolve to keep carrying this legacy forward!
