LADIES! This one is for you––join us tomorrow, May 12, at 12:30 p.m. in the Great Hall (in the Academy building on the corner of Cumberland and State) for this month's ladies' lunch with speaker Jayne Gurley!
Jayne was born in Holland, Michigan, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and education from Houghton College in New York. While her husband, Tom, served in the US Army, they lived in Berlin, Germany, and they raised their three daughters in Hartsville, OH.
Jayne also lived in Kharkiv, Ukraine, where she helped establish a crisis pregnancy center, and in Uganda, where she worked with Save the Mothers, a nonprofit that strives to reduce maternal mortality in developing countries.
Jayne is the founding director of the L.I.O.N. Players, a university-aged group that uses the performing arts to communicate God’s design for love, s*x, and marriage. The L.I.O.N Players have performed for thousands of youth in the US, Ukraine, Russia, Uganda, as well as at the Salt Lake, Athens, and London Olympic Games.
Jayne has published six children's books. She is a Bible teacher and frequent retreat speaker whose passions include reading, writing, storytelling, and her adventures in LaLa, her camper. She and Tom live in Mt. Pleasant and have 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
See you TOMORROW!
