Good senior quizzers.

Hope you all had a great Easter! The business of the holidays are over and we are back to the grind.

Below is the assigned learning for the next week.

Monday- Philemon 1:13-18
Tuesday- Philemon 1:19-25
Wednesday- 1 Timothy 1:1-7 (Practice 6pm. Doors are open for additional study at 5pm)
Thursday- 1 Timothy 1:8-14
Friday- 1 Timothy 1:15-20
Saturday- 1 Timothy 2:1-7
Sunday- 1 Timothy 2:8-15

This schedule of learning is strict. Please do not deviate from this. You may work ahead but this is the bare minimum.

Videos must be submitted daily before 8:30. Reference, fluency, pronoun, & accuracy will all be measured. A missed video will count as an absence.

Practices are required to qualify to participate at a tournament. 2 unexcused absences between tournaments will disqualify you from sitting at the table the next tournament. This has been the rule from the beginning of the season in October. It will be strictly adhered to.

By 8pm tonight I need each of you to respond HONESTLY as to where you are at with last weeks material. What is the last chapter you can quote with fluency. We will then work with you on a “catch up” plan in conjunction with new material.

Hey guys here are the stats from the practice on Sunday. Just a few take a ways...

First-Pay no attention to the last names. LOL Also, Maddy is on there twice.

You will notice the section that has the blue bars on the graph. The dark blue represents the points earned by answering correctly. More importantly I want you to take a look at the light blue on that same chart and just above where it says % attempted. This represents the times you pressed your buzzer but another quizzer was just slightly ahead of you. Almost every quizzer depressed their button we just need to work on speed.

I want you to not only work on your assigned learning this week, but also your confidence. Knowledge IS power. Knowing what you know is key. Building up your confidence will help you in buzzing in quicker as not to second guess yourselves.

We can give you all the encouraging words we can think of. We can pump you full of all the great things we KNOW you are capable of. At some point you MUST make a choice just to take a chance on yourself. Choose to believe in yourself. What we say will matter very little if you never take the leap of faith for yourself.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

Tournament Saturday at The River in Morgantown.

We will leave the church promptly at 6am. Any quizzer that will need to ride with the coaches will need to let us know by Wednesday.

Quizzers are to dress up. This is means to dress for a Sunday night service (us older folks know about those Sunday night services 😂😂). Girls hair needs to be up. Boys are being asked to wear ties.

Study materials this week. We had the weekly guides ready Sunday but decided to make adjustments following practice.

Seniors, take each day and review a chapter. You each know where your weak spots are so take some time in those areas over the next week. Videos should be posted by 8pm each day.

Monday- Ephesians 1.
Tuesday- Ephesians 2
Wednesday-practice at 6pm.
Verse check on Ephesians 3 & 4.
Thursday- Ephesians 5
Friday- Ephesians 6

If you do not already have these chapters under your belt, we don’t expect you to learn the entire chapter in a day (feel free to go ahead and do so if you think you can). You can focus on trouble verses within those chapters and fine tune some of the learning. If you do have these chapters under your belt then go back and study the pronouns and button up some of the trouble verses.

Beginners & Juniors. Sis penny is sending out texts with your plans for this week.

Good morning. I just wanted to post these for parents. I know they were sent out yesterday and the seniors all have them in their group chat.

We are about a week and a half away from our next tournament. I know everyone is excited and we spoke a great deal Sunday regarding strategy and how strategy partners with material.

We are now at the place where we must strategically study. Seniors have been asked to send verse check videos everyday by 8pm. These videos should include the verses assigned for that day. Also, we are now asking for pronoun identification in these verse checks. This is a quiz rule for seniors. Pronouns (if clarified in the reference verses) must be identified. If we identify these as we study it will become a habit of identifying during a tournament.

Quizzers, complete your weekly journals on a separate paper this week. Also, I know you are all focused on getting your daily material done and sent in. Remember to always go back and review the previous days work as well. I promise every time you review you will learn something new that you didn’t catch before.

Good afternoon quizzers and parents…

Please remember verse check videos tonight.

Junior quizzers all have a Senior quizzer in their homes. Seniors help the juniors with their verse studies. Teach them what you know, they are now in Ephesians. Teaching them will reiterate these verses with you. Just remember to learn the new material too.

Practice will be Wednesday at 6pm. They church will be open at 5pm for extra study time.

GUYS!!!!!!

AWESOME JOB TODAY!!!!!!!!

We are so proud of you all!!!!!! Reminder there is no practice tomorrow. Practice will again be on Wednesday. The church will be open at 5pm.

Please find your weekly plans below. We have 3 weeks until the next tournament. Make every day count. Fresh start.

You can fill out the plan or a separate sheet of paper. Each day you should note the message you leaned in the daily verses. On the right side, note what tactics, tricks, or skills you used this week to memorize.

02/22/2023

The Sunday School room will be open tonight at 5pm for additional help and support with your material.

Senior parents.

In the senior group text all seniors were asked to send a recording of themselves quoting the first 3 verses of their assigned chapter this week. This is to be quoted and not read. If the quizzer can do more than 3 that’s fine too.

Marcus-chapter 1
Lucas-chapter 2
Madi- chapter 3
Maddy-chapter 4

Blake is well versed in all chapters and has not been required to send his in. He is reviewing all chapters this week.

We will post later with details for the tournament on Saturday.
