This week, a team of twelve high schoolers and six adults is traveling to Atlanta, Montgomery, Selma, and Birmingham for what we hope will be a transformative week of learning and service. We invite you to pray with us throughout the week:
Creator God, who made us in your image: Through your Son Jesus Christ, you have commanded us to love one another. Through Baptism, you have called us to strive for justice and peace, respecting the dignity of every human being. We pray now for these youth and adults who seek to live into this call as pilgrims on the way of racial healing. As they embark on this sacred journey, give them open minds and hearts, that they might listen, learn, and serve with curiosity and compassion. Give them wisdom to discern your vision for the world, and courage to name where and how we’ve fallen short. Give them conviction to strive for restoration and repair. May they know, in good moments and hard ones, that they are deeply loved, and may they return to us safely. And may you continue to companion us all in the hard work of building your Kingdom. Amen.
