As ESL Director, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of our volunteers — past and present — who have helped make the last 23 years so meaningful and successful. Your dedication, compassion, and countless hours of service have impacted so many lives and strengthened our entire community.

This post is a tribute to each of you and to the incredible work we have accomplished together over the years.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to Mary Peterson, Rich & Harmonie Taddeo and Jaimi Luckett for their support and contributions this past year, although they are not pictured here.

Thank you all for being part of this remarkable journey.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember those who gave their lives in service to others. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free, and we honor their memory with gratitude.

And as the Church enters the season of Pentecost, we’re reminded of another powerful truth: God’s Spirit still moves through ordinary people to bring hope, courage, unity, and new life into the world.

Yesterday, we gathered together to celebrate Pentecost — different people, one Spirit. It was loud, joyful, prayerful, beautiful, and deeply needed.

If you missed the service, we’d love for you to worship along with us online.

Come expectant. Leave transformed.

Pentecost celebrates the moment the Church stopped being a room full of people and became a movement full of fire, courage, languages, worship, and community.

And tonight, in that same spirit, multiple congregations from across our area are coming together for one shared Pentecost worship service — different traditions, different backgrounds, one Spirit. There’s just something powerful about hearing voices, prayers, and songs rise together in one room.

And yes… there’s a potluck afterward, because the best conversations usually happen around tables with food.

This Sunday, won't look like a normal Sunday at Ox Hill.

The sanctuary is getting taken over by crayons, kid-sized courage, loud songs, tiny voices with giant faith, and a whole lot of joy. 💛

Our children are leading worship.
Reading Scripture.
Praying.
Welcoming people.
Singing their hearts out.

And honestly? These moments become core memories for a church family.

One day these kids will remember who showed up when they stepped up.

Don’t miss Children’s Day of Worship tomorrow at 11AM.
Bring someone. Sit close. Cheer loudly. Cry a little. We probably will too. 🎨✨
