It’s almost time, Loudoun County!

As LCPS students prepare to head back to school, we’re sending our love and prayers with every student, family, teacher, administrator, bus driver, and staff member beginning a new year.

May our students walk into their schools knowing they are capable, deeply valued, and never alone. May their classrooms be places of curiosity and kindness, their friendships sources of joy, and their challenges opportunities to discover just how much they can do.

And as school buses return to our roads tomorrow, let’s all slow down, stay alert, and watch carefully for children waiting at bus stops and crossing the street. A little extra patience can help every child begin and end the school day safely.💚

Here’s to a wonderful school year, LCPS! We’re cheering you on!

Loudoun County friends, we have an opportunity to help keep our neighbors’ tables filled. 💚

The Dulles South Food Pantry has shared a list of currently needed donations. If you’re able, consider adding one or two of these items to your shopping list this week. Small contributions, gathered across a caring community, can make a meaningful difference for local families.

Please check the shared post below for the pantry’s current needs, donation instructions, and drop-off information—and help us spread the word by sharing it with your Loudoun neighbors!

Join us for worship this Sunday, August 16, at 11:00 AM at Ox Hill Baptist Church!

Through music, prayer, Scripture, and Pastor Jeff Willetts’ sermon, “Lord, Help Me,” we will reflect on the persistent faith of a mother who sought healing for her daughter in Matthew 15:21–28—and the boundless grace of Christ that welcomes, restores, and reconciles.

During worship, we will also present Bibles to members of our church family and offer a special Blessing of the Backpacks for students, teachers, and school staff preparing for a new school year. Children are invited to participate in Children’s Church following the blessing.

Whether you have been part of Ox Hill for years, are returning after time away, or are looking for a church community, you are warmly invited to worship with us.

❤️ Do not be shaken.

UPDATE: We Will Not Be Shaken

This morning, as Danielle was praying, she felt the Lord repeatedly speaking the words, "Do not be shaken." He then led her to Hebrews 12:27–29, and when she read it, she realized it was the very Scripture that matched the words He had just been speaking to her.

"This expression, 'Yet once more,' indicates the removal of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what is not shaken might remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful. By it, we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire."
— Hebrews 12:27–29 (CSB)

As the morning continued, four different people independently reached out to Danielle with the exact same message: "Do not be shaken."

Then the MRI results came back. They confirmed the traumatic brain injury, but we will not be shaken. God had already prepared Danielle's heart before the report ever arrived, reminding her to keep her eyes on Him and trust Him even when she couldn't yet see what He was doing.

Today Ian also had a temporary tracheostomy and feeding tube placed. These are important next steps that will make him much more comfortable when he wakes up and will help in the process of weaning him from breathing support.

We are also thanking God for more encouraging signs today. Ian's eyes tracked with Danielle's voice, his fingers moved on command, and he lifted his arm up to his chest. Every one of these moments reminds us that God is still working.

Below is a Prayer and Declaration that Pastor Sam wrote for us to speak over Ian and his family.

Prayer: Father, we thank You that You have gone before us and spoken peace before the MRI report ever came. We choose not to be shaken because our hope is anchored in You. We declare that Ian's mind, brain, and body are coming into perfect alignment with the way You created them. We speak healing over every injured area and command inflammation, infection, trauma, and every effect of this brain injury to leave in Jesus' name. Let healthy brain function be restored, nerve pathways reconnect, and strength return day by day.

Declaration: We declare that this MRI is not the final word. JESUS IS. Ian will wake up and declare the works of the Lord. We believe for complete healing, full restoration, and a testimony that brings glory to Your name. Strengthen Danielle and the entire family with supernatural peace that cannot be shaken. We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, knowing that You are faithful and You are still working.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Thank you for continuing to pray, believe, and stand with the O'Boyle family.

We will not be shaken.

We’re standing with Ian, his family, and all of Gateway Church in prayer for healing, full recovery of lung and brain function, and all in His time.

UPDATE 7/16/26 – PLEASE KEEP PRAYING. 🙏

Thank you, Gateway family, for faithfully praying for Ian and the O'Boyle family. We continue to believe God is at work, and today we have another update.

The doctors have recommended placing a tracheostomy (trach) for Ian's breathing support along with a feeding tube. While that may sound discouraging at first, the medical team believes these are important next steps in his recovery. A trach is generally much more comfortable than a breathing tube through the mouth and will allow them to gradually reduce his lung support while testing his breathing strength as he improves.

Over the last couple of days, we've been praying that God would order Ian's steps according to His perfect plan, not our timeline. When the doctors recommended the trach today, Danielle felt the Lord remind her, "This is the next step." She also felt led to ask our church family to pray specifically for the trach today. Whether the procedure happens today or later, let's pray for God's hand over every detail and for this to be another step toward Ian's complete healing.

Another encouragement is that Ian has now been about 12 hours without pain medication and does not appear to be in pain. We are thankful for that and continue praying for complete healing and restoration.

Please continue praying for Danielle as well. This has been an emotional day, but she is choosing to keep her eyes fixed on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and the promises God has given.

As a church, we are standing on God's Word and believing for what only He can do. We are praying for restored brain function, strong lungs, clear vision, renewed strength, and complete healing.

"For nothing will be impossible with God." — Luke 1:37 (CSB)

Please keep praying. Please keep believing. God is not finished yet.
