A Storm is Coming!

The weather folks are calling for a significant storm this weekend. The question is: are you ready? Do you have the tools you need—salt, a shovel, maybe even a strong back?

But here’s what I’ve learned: even when we prepare for a winter storm, sometimes the forecast is wrong and nothing happens at all.

Life, however, is different. In life, storms are guaranteed. Jesus Himself told us, “In this world you will have tribulation.” Trouble will come. Storms will rise. Winds will blow. But Jesus didn’t stop there—He said, “Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.”

So put your trust in the true Weatherman—the One who never gets the forecast wrong, the One who controls the winds and the waves, and the One who promises to be with you in every storm you face.

Stay warm, stay encouraged, and stay wrapped up in Jesus—your protection and your comfort.

Today, we solemnly observe Patriot Day, a day dedicated to honoring the heroes and remembering the victims who tragically lost their lives on September 11, 2001. On this hallowed day, we witnessed the extraordinary emergence from the hearts of ordinary individuals. In addition to the brave police officers and firefighters who heroically risked their lives to aid others, countless strangers also stepped forward, displaying unparalleled courage as they placed themselves in harm’s way to serve others.

God be merciful upon us, and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Our sovereign Lord, We thank you for the gift of freedom that you have provided us. Although it is not perfect, we know Lord that it is not perfect because of us. We ask for your Grace, Lord. Help us as a nation and world to come together despite our differences, and seek your face - the face of perfect freedom and liberty. Send your spirit, Lord, to be with us always and everywhere, for we know that where the spirit of the Lord is, there is always freedom. Amen.

In Virginia, after days of searching following a crash on June 7, authorities confirmed the worst.
Kyle Coleman’s body was found.
A beloved college student, a son, a friend—gone far too soon.

🔥 HIS IPHONE CALLED 911 AFTER A CRASH—BUT WHEN POLICE ARRIVED, KYLE COLEMAN WAS GONE.
🚨 Tysons, Virginia | June 7, 2025

🔥 19-year-old Kyle Coleman had just finished his freshman year at Morehouse College. He went out with friends Friday night—but never came home. His parents, Cimmerian and Keith Coleman, woke up Saturday morning in Gainesville and knew something was wrong.

🚨 At 11:20 p.m. on Friday, an emergency call was received by Fairfax County 911. But it wasn’t from Kyle himself—it was triggered by the crash detection feature on his iPhone.

🔥 First responders rushed to the scene near Galleria Drive in Tysons, just outside Tysons Corner Mall. His Toyota Yaris had veered off the road into a wooded area. Tire tracks were still visible in the grass days later.
🚨 But Kyle wasn’t in the car.
He was gone.

🔥 When the car was located the next morning at Henry’s Wrecker Service in Merrifield, his parents made a chilling discovery:

His cellphone

His car keys

And a pair of slides were still inside the wrecked vehicle.

🚨 The front of the Yaris was smashed in, airbags deployed, and plant debris embedded in the metal. But no blood. No Kyle. No clues.

🔥 Kyle’s parents fear he may have suffered a head injury, become disoriented, or worse—that something else happened in the woods that night.

🚨 Kyle Coleman was last seen wearing:

A red-and-white Morehouse College windbreaker

Black running pants

🔥 He is described as:

5’11” tall

160 pounds

🚨 Two police departments—Fairfax County and Prince William County—are now investigating. A missing persons report has been filed.
His parents are desperately pleading for the public’s help.

🔥 If you saw anything in the area of Galleria Drive near Tysons Corner Mall on Friday night—or if you know what happened to Kyle Coleman—call 911 immediately.

We had a bit of a technical difficulty, but we are catching up. We offer this prayer in remembrance of our fallen heroes.

Lord, we have set aside today to honor those brave heroes who have laid down their lives for the freedom of this nation. It is not lost on us that you willingly laid down your life so that we have the freedom of salvation. Bless those families who have a loss and fill the void in their hearts with the warmth and love of your Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for your continued Grace and Mercy. Amen.

Father in Heaven,

We come to you in this time of uncertainty, fear, and even despair. Lord, we know there is one constant that will never ever change, and that is you and your love for us. Isaiah 41:10 tells us to Fear not, for you are with us, and that we should not be dismayed, for you are our God. Please, Lord, forgive us for losing sight and/or faith in you, and thank you for your infallible faithfulness in us.

Lord, we ask your help us to not only keep, but to increase our faith in you. In Joshua 1:9, we see that we are to be strong and of good courage, not afraid or dismayed, for you are with us, no matter where we are or go. Sometimes Lord, in our weak times, we lose sight of that and need to be reminded that we are not alone. We ask that you open our spiritual eyes, so that we can better recognize you in times of need.

Finally, Lord, help us to see just how blessed we are by your divine providence, and that we should help others where/when we can. Help us to be a conduit to those who are also in need. Help us understand that blessings should flow THROUGH us, and not TO us. Proverbs 11:25 tells us that those who help others will be abundantly blessed. Speak to us, Lord, and show us these opportunities. We ask this in your holy name.

Amen.
