Big news! The Hermitage is moving! I’m not sure where - that depends on a number of things - but here’s the Zillow listing if anyone is interested in buying an established suburban homestead:

Calling the Army’s Spiritual Fitness Guide “new age” and unserious, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ordered its immediate removal, raising concerns about how future chaplain reforms could affect religious pluralism within the U.S. military.

Hey, guys, if you’ve been following the developments and happenings here at the Hermitage and find value in what I’m building here, please find it in your heart to give me some support this month. I was laid off in July and have exhausted my savings and unemployment benefits looking for work that will accommodate my disabilities. I have a job come January 2nd, but by that time I won’t have basic utilities or a telephone service with which to do the work. All the area charities are tapped out for the foreseeable future as well. I can accept PayPal at [email protected]. I appreciate you all and any donations will go to feeding the animals at the Hermitage and keeping the utilities going. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Photo is of Charcoal, resting on the front walkway.

The beginnings of a shrine to Cernunnos at the foot of what I think of as the god’s tree, a triple trunked red oak(?). I was out with the goats and realized that a path had opened right to its trunk from the labyrinth area. I’ve wanted to put a shrine here for years, but couldn’t find the fynds to build one. Then I saw the fallen branches around it. I have been considering fallen branches as building materials rather than garden waste for a while now, but hadn’t considered using them for the shrine until now. It’s not much, but for now it’s perfect!
