In this message from our Before I Go series, Pastor Joel McReynolds teaches from John 15:1–8. As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, He reminds them that their life and fruitfulness depend completely on their continued relationship with Him. Jesus is the true Vine, and His disciples are called to abide in Him.

True disciples bear fruit for God’s glory by abiding in Christ. Apart from Him there is no spiritual life or lasting fruit, but those who remain in Christ are shaped by His Word and bear fruit that demonstrates His work in their lives.

As Jesus prepares His disciples for His departure, He comforts their troubled hearts with the gift of His peace. Unlike the peace the world offers, Christ’s peace does not depend on favorable circumstances.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus reconciles believers to God and provides lasting hope. Even when life is uncertain, we can live in Christ’s peace.

Because Jesus lives and His Spirit remains with His people, believers can walk in loving obedience without fear of abandonment.

For kids PK–6th grade at Chandler Southern Baptist Church. Wear clothes that can get wet, bring a towel, and invite a friend!

This Sunday, we pause our Before I Go series to consider what it means to be a people devoted to prayer. Drawing from Nehemiah 9, Pastor Joel McReynolds will lead us to move beyond simply talking about prayer and to seek God together.

Following the teaching portion, our church family will spend extended time in congregational prayer, confession, thanksgiving, and the Lord’s Supper. To give those gathered freedom to pray and respond personally, the livestream will conclude before that portion of the service begins.
